Where to stay in Traverse City

Most accommodations in Traverse City lie near the waters of Grand Traverse Bay. The West Arm of the bay is closer to businesses and services in and around downtown. The portion of Traverse City on the East Arm of the bay remains quieter. Both areas offer hotels and bed and breakfasts with convenient access to the beach. Many visitors opt to stay in vacation rentals, including lakeside cottages and houses, which you'll also find here.

  • Great staff. Wines had great names to match old school house. Creative. Excellent sweet wines, not a place for reds.
  • Staff very friendly. Love their wine. My favorite is homework.
  • The old schoolhouse and the theme for their wine names is very cute, and I think if you are looking for simpler, sweeter wines this may be your place. It was worth a stop to try something different, but as I am not a fan of sweet wines it wasn't my favorite Old Mission visit.
  • Awesome wines here!
  • The tasting room was very clean and bright, which is a surprising contrast to the building itself--an old school house. The staff was very friendly and they had a pretty decent selection. They had an apple wine which was very tasty and unique compared to the usual cherry wines in that area.
