  • Beautiful historic site. Old log cabin along with the Light House itself a bonus. Beautiful beach. Quaint Lighthouse, only 35 steps to top. Well worth the $4 adult/$2 child fee to climb to the light! Lovely views. Or totally free, walk around first floor and see how they lived, see photos from the past, listen to a video presentation and go to the little gift shop.
  • I would give it 5 stars had I been able to get in side the lighthouse. Beautiful beautiful beautiful drive out to it and location. Enjoyed the wineries along the road.
  • Great historic site. Good views of the lake and an interesting presentation about life for the lighthouse keepers on the second floor. A level 5 Fresnel lens is displayed. The grounds also include an original settler's log cabin, with a cell phone narrative available.
  • Nice experience for the family and kid friendly, and ADA accessible. There is ample parking. However, there is bit f an easier walk to the actual light house! My visit was during a rainy day.
  • Worth the drive up the peninsula. Beach, lighthouse and a warm fall day. Can't get much better!

Most accommodations in Traverse City lie near the waters of Grand Traverse Bay. The West Arm of the bay is closer to businesses and services in and around downtown. The portion of Traverse City on the East Arm of the bay remains quieter. Both areas offer hotels and bed and breakfasts with convenient access to the beach. Many visitors opt to stay in vacation rentals, including lakeside cottages and houses, which you'll also find here.
