  • This is a little old lighthouse at the very end of the Peninsula. Great place for wedding pictures and for tourists to visit.
  • Beautiful drive through the peninsula to get to this very quaint clapboard-sided lighthouse. It is secluded and dear and unobtrusive. The site and beach are gorgeous. Most of the time it is manned by ...  more »
  • A beautiful drive to get here. Some of the most picturesque views in Michigan as you drive to this lighthouse. You have winery's, vineyards, views of East and West Grand Traverse Bays. Once at Mission...  more »

  • You have to pay $4 to walk up 37 stairs to the top of the lighthouse... a little to much for that! They would probably make more money doing a dollar a person honestly. Very clean beach and beautiful scenery.
  • The picturesque Mission Point Lighthouse was built in 1870 to warn ships away from the dangerous shoals extending into Grand Traverse Bay at the tip of the Old Mission Peninsula, I think the drive up the Peninsula was more interesting that the Lighthouse itself, quaint towns and eateries dotted the route up. “Were I a Roman Catholic, perhaps I should on this occasion vow to build a chapel to some saint, but as I am not, if I were to vow at all, it should be to build a light-house." Ben Franklin
  • When we pulled in the parking lot it was crowded, but once we walked around it didn't feel crowded at all. There are several things to see and do: The historic log cabin house, The Light house and gift shop, and wow the views of where the West Arm and East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay meet are spectacular.
  • The Old Mission Peninsula bicycle ride is rated one of the best cycling routes in all of Michigan. I rode it for the first time and have to agree, it's the best ride I've done in the state.
  • Beautiful scenery and drive up to the light house. The experience is great. Odd to charge people to walk up to the top, but not a bad idea.
