  • I spent $4 on a giant chocolate chip cookie here and it was worth every. Red. Cent. I had a pastie that was the best I'd ever eaten. My wife had a spiced lamb/beef/pork stew they called chili that was...  read more »

  • Like stepping back in time. If you are heading out to visit the lighthouse this is almost a must-visit. It is truly a general store with stuff everywhere, which made it both fun and difficult to navigate with a small crowd (and I suspect they often have a small crowd there).
  • Neat shop; lots of things to discover and great food and treats. Front porch is great for some ice cream. Bring cash.
  • I thought this would be a good place to stop during a nice drive up the peninsula but it was a total disappointment. The store itself is disorganized and difficult to navigate. The few things that were stocked were over priced. The owner was extremely rude and tried to short change us $5. I watched him drop my receipt behind the counter and when I asked for it he started yelling and accusing me of taking it. He got extremely angry when I asked him to break down the total and told us we could put everything back. I guess he was upset that he got caught. Afterwards he proceeded to talk about my family and I to the other customers. This place definitely doesn't appreciate your business. Don't come here unless you're prepared to be insulted, talked down to, and ripped off. With all of the negative reviews on various sites you would think the owner would try to learn some common decency.
  • Funny, eclectic place. Some good food/snacks. The cheese-filled pretzels are delicious. We really like the cherry hot spiced cider. It really hits the spot on a cold, wintery, northern Michigan day.
  • This delightful old-timey store is not to be missed! With aisles full of items for sale alongside museum-like displays of antique & vintage items, it's like stepping back in time.
