  • After the phenomenal views of Mount St Helen going inside you can read stories and get historical information.  more »
  • Lookouts say 拝meru St Helens volcano in front. Museum has a weather forecast for a week in the information at an additional cost, but not depend on it. Go check the current weather in Castle Rock, such as hotel mountain weather is changeable, so good. You could see because it was sunny the next morning took the clouds if you go in the evening on the first day, but didn't look St Helens. Museum in St Helens eruption introduction movie plays on a regular basis.

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to the Mount St. Helens area, especially to the Johnston Ridge Observatory. We were here 15 years ago, and it is interesting to learn how much has changed in ...  more »

  • Wicked views of the north end of the erupted Mount saint Helens and those lava channels. Come in the early morning to get nice pictures and the if you're lucky the early morning mist and see, makes for neat photo opts. Ample parking, and cool information. Some old petrified trees along the way, aftermath of the eruption. And you can see along the way the trees replanted. Great progress in restoration. Worth the drive.
  • We got there a little late to catch the movies but still was able to listen to a ranger tell us all about this amazing mountain. The area around her is beautiful. Go early pack a lunch as there is maybe 1 resturant near the bottom to eat at.
  • Cool spot to view and learn about Mt. St Helens... Stopped in while hiking the Mount Margaret wilderness along trail 1. Worth the 14 mile day hike!
  • First of all, mount saint Helens is incredibly interesting and the observatory gives you everything you want to know about it. The rangers are very knowledgeable and the building it's self is a beautiful piece of architecture. Be sure to look at how the volcanic blast blew trees over. It's really surreal.
  • This is well worth the drive. Johnston is 5 miles from Mt Saint Helen's and offers spectacular views of the volcano. The National Park Service has a very well done visitors center where you can learn about the eruption and volcanoes. There are several trails with one 14 miles. Limited food is available so bring food and drinks and remember to carry out all of your trash and to stay on the trails
