  • National Park campground was full and chose this place to stop. Owner (?) was super friendly, bathrooms were clean, grounds were maintained. I would stop here again without hesitation.  more »

  • This is our first visit to 1000 Lakes and it could not have been better. Connie was so helpful when my wife cut her finger and needed medical attention in the evening. She opened the store and called the Wayne County emergency services for us and then texted several times to be sure we were ok. Thanks, Connie! The sites are far enough apart and level and quiet. Access to Capitol Reef is only 20 miles away. We highly recommend 1000 Lakes.
  • Nice park just outside Capitol Reef in Torrey. We stayed along the back fence in their back-in units. The trees were so close to the campers that it made using our awning impossible. Other than that, pretty nice place.
  • We have been here several times and always enjoyed our stay. All the facilities are clean. Cabins are comfortable with reasonable rates. The gift shop is very good also. We always look forward to our visit here.
  • We had a family reunion here in July 2016. We will never return here!! The staff was very unfriendly and hovered over us like hawks! They even got in to an argument with my son and daughter! We were charged more than stated when we made the reservations. We have camped a lot of places... no where else have they charged an additional fee of $1.50 per night per kid and $2 per night per adult on top of what was already paid for the camp site itself. And we even though we made reservations in February our sites were not together! Within the first 15 minutes our grandson was reprimanded for riding his bicycle on the grass, our son rode his side by side to one of our other spots to help unload camping gear and was talked to about not "joy riding" in the camp site. Quiet time is at 10 o'clock which we understand as we do a lot of camping. We do not party so we were just sitting around the camp fire visiting, with the younger children right there by us and were reminded with a nasty attitude every night that it was quiet time right at 10:01. Our grandson was reprimanded for braking too hard on his bike and leaving divets in their gravel. The ladies in the store were not nice or friendly. The camp ground is in dirt with tiny patches of dry grass that they kept telling us we need to be very careful with it. We were there to enjoy ourselves and be together as a family and were treated like we were 2 year olds constantly breaking made up rules that we weren't made aware of. This camp is not for small children or big groups, even though they advertise for children with their pool and playground.
  • Fantastic views both sides, absolutely breathtaking. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms (although basic. 2 loos and two showers). Wifi was a bit of a dud but we had a BBQ and campfire and the stars at night are just fantastic. Great location too.
