  • Love the Patio Playground! Owners are great, they love people, and play mostly oldies which gives the place lots of nostalgia! They make the best real ice cream shakes and are just great to talk too! ...  read more »
  • We went back to Patio Playground yesterday, Sept. 11, 2016. I'm sure it's the blend of colorful atmosphere, deeply satisfying ice cream, and friendly service, but I always feel better about life when ...  read more »
  • Great place for family fun...young and old. Putt putt golf for everyone, super arcade...delicious ice cream..Near the beach...a must if you're looking for something to do while visiting Topsail.
  • We love Playground! It's a simple but fun course. The owner is friendly, her college age daughter is nice, but needs to smile more. The 18th hole is VERY challenging and gives you a chance to win a free round. After the 18th, you can have some ice cream, or a shake, or... Play some video games! Many of the games give you tickets which you can trade for prizes. The kids love that. Two air hockey tables, two punching bag games to test your braun, Galaga, shoot 'em ups, Dance Dance Revolution, Hot Shot basketball, too many to list! You can even rent DVD's for $3 per day. We visit Playground several times on our annual trip to TI. It's what we do. You should too.
  • This place is adorable. The mini golf is quaint and fun. THE ICE CREAM is delicious, never mind that the staff is very friendly, especially the woman. But the arcade is what really got me. We spent about in hour in the arcade, and got around 800 tickets. It's really a throwback to your childhood, and feels just like how a beachy ice cream place and mini golf course should.
  • Fun mini golf for kids. A little too pedestrian for mini golf aficionados. Great ice cream selection. Arcade has some old school games like Galaga, Ms Pac Man, and Donkey Kong, along with the pinball machines. Big bonus points for that.
  • Thought this would be fun based on reviews, but it looks very boring, very flat and way to easy. We went just for the ice cream the place just had a dirty feel to it. the arcade was dark looking. We got our ice cream, which was over priced from what the sign says.our waffle cones broke with just a couple licks of ice cream, and the ice cream was melting as she was giving it to us. Not a place I'll go again!
  • Went here as a kid many times (early to mid-1970s) while on vacation and it was awesome. Looks like it hasn't changed much which is a good thing. A reminder of the simple pleasures.
