Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center, Topeka

It was clean and for once most of the animals were out. The dinosaurs 🦕 were a neat change. The Japanese garden was nice but the gravel area that should have patterns in, you could tell had not been done for awhile . My only complaint was the concession stand closes at 3pm yet you let people come in till 430 pm and close at 5 . I would give another star maybe two if that changed

This would be an awesome zoo with some funding I'm sure. Not many animals. It was a beautiful almost spring day and most animals were not found or sleeping. And it should have been an active part of the day as it was mid morning after the zoo opened. The habitats were sad as some had the trees and such drawn on the walls or painted not real. And there is so much open or empty area to add more or make larger habitats but I'm sure because of funding it's not able to be developed. This could be an amazing zoo. It has a nice small layout. And several in buildings. We went during the dinosaur exhibit was there and it was really impressive. I haven't seen a better one of the dinosaurs moving and making close to real sounds as this one was. And the information at each area was great to. I'm not much into dinosaurs but I would go and see this one again.

Covid made it not as good as it could be but we understand

Always a fun outing for the family at the Topeka Zoo, this time was actually one of the best for animal viewing. There's some construction occurring towards the East side of the Zoo, but it wasn't anything that bothered visitors a ton, and it'll definitely make the zoo better than it currently is. Should take 1 to 1.5 hours to go throughout the whole zoo, if you're doing it fairly quickly, which makes it great for families with little ones. The train at Gage Park was closed, presumably due to hear, but otherwise a great trip. *Local Tip* Parking is horrible in the zoo's lot, and they've built a new structure for weddings and events that took up most of it anyways. Due yourself a favor and park across the street somewhere in Gage Park and walk.

We love the Topeka Zoo. It’s small enough to get through in a couple hours, yet large enough that it keeps my kids wanting to come back over and over again. We LOVE the Zoo Lights addition – such a great gift to the community. We are a high-risk house, so we appreciate their extra effort in adding a day that everyone is required to wear masks. Thank you!
