  • We went for a visit this past weekend and the grounds as usual were beautiful. The pond and trails are great. I took my camera so that I could capture all the gorgeous plant life. They also have bonsa...  read more »
  • This place is much bigger than I thought it would be and very beautiful. If you cannot get out and walk the trails you can drive your car around on the paved areas. The paved roads are all one way and...  read more »
  • Four seasons outdoor spectacular and three botanical domes for temperate, tropical and arid conditions and one of the best Bonsai gardens available. Miles of hiking, more rare tree and shrub varieties...  read more »
  • It has been many years since I have visited these gardens. But it is on my list to go there this coming spring, when the flowers are in bloom. They have a wonderful Japanese Bonsai tree collection as well as a Desert and Tropical botanical greenhouses. The gardens grounds have been landscaped with loving care, but as you go further back toward the hiking trails the area becomes more and more wild. This is a great place for photographers and nature lovers of all ages, a must see if your in southern Michigan.
  • I like the hiking trails BUT, they are not properly posted. They need more signs to show hikers which trail they are on and which to take. I wanted the 3 mile hike but ended up with the 1 2/3 mile hike due to poor/ lack of signs. Besides that Hidden Lake Gardens is great
  • If the rest of MSU/plant lovers/outside fans knew that this "hidden gem" existed-traffic getting there would beat that of fans to MIS. It has earned its name being quite the road trip in getting there but all So Very Worth It. Sweeping landscape drives; superbly orchestrated presentation/design, and Extremely Well designed accessibility for Anyone. Here's The Dirt: buildings take 1.5-2hr to go thru. You may walk the roads or drive to small trail/'park' areas and get out to see more but must Love Hills and tripping over own feet due to views. Excellent areas to stop and take it in. Can decide how much you want to see, how much of a work out and how alone you'd like to be. Is tremendous and awe-inspiring. Bring snacks/drinks and prepare to bring out trash. Excellent 4 season atmosphere. Remember: There is a reason why they tell you umpteen times "the gates lock at 7p" with many reminder signs!
  • Get your nature on. Great Bonsai exhibit and beautiful flowering trees collection.
  • Very Nice Place to visit. You can walk or drive so you can enjoy it both ways.
