This building still awes me as to the location, construction and absolute craftsmanship. If you wish, you can climb to the summit of Mt. Hood from here, and the views across the valley are incredible!... read more »
We stopped here on a tour around Oregon. Had lunch and a tour of the Lodge. Both were great. Views from the Cascade Dining room are to the south...looking towards Mt. Jefferson. I think it's a better ... read more »
One of the few swanky 4-5 star hotels where you can walk in from backpacking around the mountain, drop your pack safely in the lobby and head upstairs for a cold beer. Great atmosphere, great vibe, lots of outdoorsy folks coming and going.
Timberline lodge is a combination of an intricately designed lodge and the best ski area on planet earth. From the nearly year round skiing to the beautiful timber lodging frame, it truelly has it all. Demoed some skis and I was not disappointed. The park features were a delightful change in pace from my east coast home town mountains (hills). I ate at one or the restaurants in the lodge and the food was that of a high standard. Very delicious. Now I'm just trying to figure out when I can come back next.
Timberline lodge is the perfect way to end a day at Mt Hood. It's warm and in the winter has multiple fireplaces you can warm up by. The restaurant and bar address beautiful and you can sit and watch the snowfall. I love to take my kids there for hot chocolate after a day hiking or playing in the snow.
I went up there for an impromptu visit with my friends and we wanted to see the Timberline Lodge. We were fitted by its beauty and we enjoyed dining there for the evening. We were not guests for the night.
This historic lodge is a must see. Always beautiful and open to the public. Truly one of the nicer places of Oregon history. Skiers have even more to enjoy with year around skiing and a great day lodge. Beautiful views from a beautiful mountain.
