  • No lack of wild life in this brush country state park. Nestled between the federal prison and some oil refineries. This place feels pretty desolate. Coyotes close by at night and javelina run through ...  more »

  • If you have a boat and are wanting to fish, this is a good place. If you want to see a lot of wildlife, this is a good place. If you want to swim, this place sucks! Even if there were no gaters, the water and shoreline is nasty. The only way to escape the heat is to go inside or leave the park. The park rangers must be under a lot of pressure to give out citations, they were constantly bothering people. Between the heat by day, bugs at night, and no swimming, this was my least favorite state park I've visited in Texas.
  • We really enjoyed our weekend their seen deer turkey and a hog. Tons of birds my daughter said they were singing to her. The bath rooms and showers were clean the cabin was nice an cool. The only down side was the stickers were everywhere could not walk anywhere with out them all over shoes and scokes and the swing set by the cabins were broken. We stayed in cabin 7 and it was the perfect spot not to close to water close to bathroom and lot of shade.
  • Fun large place. Can rent a cabin. Go on the lake. Very cheap place to have fun
  • Camping sites, shelter rental, showers, good fishing & alligators. Yea! Lots of fun for friends and families getting together. Great place to hang out during weekends.
  • We have tent camped here and rented a cabin. Kids love it! Tons of stuff for them to do. The rangers put on shows for them at the rec center. We went fishing and swam in the lake. Absolutely love it!
