  • Lots of millennials and fun atmosphere. Tried the specialty flight and liked only the cider one. Switched to root beer, more my speed, and it was very good. Food looked great but we had already eaten....  read more »
  • Learned a lot about different spirits and local history of the distillery building from the tour guide. Apparently I've been drinking the wrong stuff because this beer drinker bought a bottle of rye w...  read more »
  • We hadn't heard of this place but on passing through Indiana Dunes on our way to New Buffalo we were told it was great, and it didn't disappoint. Great food and service, lovely cocktails. The bison bu...  read more »
  • Took the tour and was very happy with the samplings. It was a Monday so by the time we finished, we wanted to eat. There for sure wasn't enough staff to cover the rush, however, I was impressed to see the owner, Bill, bussing tables and serving food. All the staff was hustling but they were just overwhelmed. The food was great. I do think they should offer an alternative ketchup to their natural (yes, I just said that). All in all, I will for sure be back!
  • This place is easily 5 stars based on their spirits. Their gin is out of this world and most of the whiskies are delightful. I want to highlight that I generally go for the spirits and to try cocktails. The staff behind the bar is always competent and they create great cocktails with their own spirits. If you go, you must either try a whisky or gin on its own, but live a little and try a cocktail as well. The food at Staymaker is also very good. I am always impressed that they use Middlebrook Farm ground beef there on occasion, which is pricier than most meat, but worth it for the sake of the cows and the taste of the chili or burgers. We always recommend this place when we have guests in town. Keep up the awesome work, folks!
  • The food was exceptional, but it took 45 minutes to get the food. Not many choices for food but lots of alcoholic drinks. The portions were very small and not worth the money. Would not recommend and would not go again.
  • This establishment is very clean and and has a pretty cool rustic vibe. The prices on the other hand are so high that it makes me wonder how anyone could decide to go back. The spirits taste prematurely bottled and the drinks are filled with anything but alcohol.
  • 3.5, but I rounded up. Went out for bday dinner. I didn't drink, so can't say what the liquor is like. It's plenty of it though. Wednesday night, and two LARGE tables that slowed service for the rest of us. Not packed, just a nice amount. A drink was ordered that was recommended... many minutes later find out they are out of the ingredients (huh?). We had the smoked salmon spread, very good! However they give a nice amount of it... the small slices of bread didn't compensate for what was leftover. Waitress offered to put in another order so we can finish the spread. I thought this was a courtesy due to the wait on our food... was charged $1 for 6 very small slices of bread. We both had the hanger steak and for $21, we didn't expect a huge piece of meat. Just really wished they offered more selections on menu. The fries are great. Get those, ask for the mustard with them. For a place that has such high reviews, it just left me with more to be desired. This place FOR ME, is a nice casual, after work, let's catch up... not a "I'm starving, let's go here". Ps. Many around us were ordering the pizzas or burgers. Must be the better dishes.
