Towering cliffs of red, white, and pink Navajo sandstone, stream-carved slot canyons, and big blue sky all characterize Zion National Park. The park's adventurous visitors come to go canyoneering, which mixes rappelling, swimming, and hiking and usually involves ad-hoc problem solving. Hiking, biking, and paddling on rivers provide other active means of seeing the park. Zion's wild, colorful landscape of mountains, canyons, buttes, mesas, rivers, slot canyons, and natural arches is the biggest attraction. Keep an eye out for mule deer, rock squirrels, peregrine falcons, California condors, and bald eagles here. Add Zion National Park and other United States destinations to your travel plans using our United States travel planner.

Where to stay in Zion National Park

If you want to stay inside Zion National Park, you can choose from three campgrounds or the Zion Lodge, which includes motel rooms, cabins, suites, and a restaurant. Two of the campgrounds sit near the south entrance, while the third lies more isolated about a one-hour drive from Zion Canyon along the Kolob Terrace Road. The gateway town of Springdale just south of the park has a wide range of accommodations. Choose from cozy inns and bed and breakfasts, rustic riverside lodges, and clean and simple motels. If everything's full here, try the nearby towns of Virgin and Hurricane.
