  • we took our 7 yr old granddaughter and went up to the dig site on the shuttle bus. It was an amazing experience for us to see an actual dig in progress and we learned so much. The museum is a real gem  more »

  • Lots of great fossils. Some dug nearby. Many from Germany. The dinosaur exibit is good but most of them are replicas.
  • Very enjoyable museum. Lots of great specimens. Watch paleontologists at work.
  • The Museum exemplifies what a Museum should have and display. We loved every minute we spent there.
  • Great place to go to check out some amazing fossils. I especially enjoyed the archaeopteryx specimen.
  • First of all, driving through the canyon to Thermopolis itself is probably worth 5 stars, and this place is the reason I did that so they're off to a great start. That said, upon arrival you'll be even more glad you came. They really do have a lot of dinosaur packed into a small space (although I understand they are in the process of remodeling & expanding). The building itself isn't much to look at from the outside, and odds are in a lot of ways it's smaller than you probably expect, but trust me you won't be disappointed. They pack in a lot of amazing artifacts, many of them real actual fossils & not replicas. I would absolutely come here again even if they didn't change a thing--and based on their remodel plans on display they are only changing for the better, so I really look forward to coming back here once those are complete.
