  • Great hike - views were amazing! We did north loop only and had plenty of great views.
  • We really enjoyed our hike. We only took the north end of the loop due to time, but we really enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery & it was a cooler day (low 60's) & very sunny, so perfect weather. It would be a very hot hike in summer b/c there is very little shade. Our hiking poles came in handy for ascending & descending some of the washes. The petrified trees were very unique & interesting.
  • Only got a bit through this. It was hot. Google maps had us keep going when we were close, but follow the sign that tells you to turn right. It isn't lying. Then there are little tiny markers for it. Go early!
  • Long hike .....good ❤ rate booster....be more fun via horseback!
  • Clearly I didn’t do my research! Entrance was 5-7 miles of gravel road. Passable but very dusty. We hiked in about a half mile because we were short on time and didn’t get to see any petrified forest. Heading back going west on I94 requires more dirt roads as there is no entrance to I94 west from this part of the park. Plan on at least 2 - 3 hours to visit here from Medora.
