  • Took my sons ages 10, 13 and 15 to the great stone door. It's a nice two mile loop through the woods up to the bluffs. The bluffs are awesome. But I was also a nervous wreck as a parent. You are liter...  more »
  • I have no clue why this attraction is only in the top 700 in Tennessee. It is in my top 20. If you enjoy the outdoors and hiking then Stone Door is a must. I have been to MOST of the larger state park...  more »
  • You'd swear you were walking through something out of Lord of the Rings or some of fantasy story. The hike to the Stone Door wasn't bad at all. It's about a mile there and back. At the beginning, ther...  more »

  • Fantastic hike and rock feature! The Great Stone Door is a rock stairway that leads from the top of the hill lower into the gulch. It's so cool, you'll feel like you're in a Lord of the Rings movie. It's an easy hike (one mile) from the Stone Door Ranger Station. At the top is a lookout where you can see for miles. Be careful, though, there's no railing or anything else to prevent you from falling. Also a popular rock climbing spot. Fun for the whole family!
  • Good place to go on a nature walk must say the Indian post office when you're there not a good place to take kids that you have to carry but are able to walk on their own good
  • Just camped at the stone door campground ! It was awesome
  • Amazing view!
  • This is a great place to hike, close to Nashville and has easy access to a great overlook via a mostly paved trail.
