  • Don't go all the way. You can't do it without a jeep, probably w some modifications. But up until close to the falls base, it's very doable! Pretty drive, great views back into telluride and beyond. O...  more »
  • If you have a jeep, do Black Bear Pass! The scenery is beautiful and you do not really appreciate the mountains unless you get into the heart of mountain!  more »
  • This pass is a one way jeep road but a fun hike from town with waterfalls and great views. It takes a while in the summer for the snow to melt so check with locals before riding or driving over it.  more »

  • Best motorcycle experience ever! From Telluride take Ophir Pass (easy) south and return via Black Bear Pass (one way only - difficult "steps" at the top of the waterfall)
  • A must do if the pass is open. Trail is not too difficult and you don't have to worry about breaking parts but put a wheel wrong and you can die.
  • Been there twice but still can't get enough of it
  • I took my 2012 stock JK jeep, loaded up with the family, down the pass and thru switch backs down to Telluride.Saw lots of sheep grazing in the pass. Once you leave the pass and head to Telluride it is ONE WAY ONLY.(towards telluride). When you reach the top of the waterfall, the "road" narrows down. Rough 4WD only. It's called the steps for a reason. There is an old mine at the waterfall once you make it down the steps. The road is very narrow.. just take it slow.. The first few switchbacks are narrow. You may need a guide to navigate them, just to make sure...You will then come to bridal veil falls, and the hydro-electric power plant. Rest of the road from that point is 2-way down to the city of Telluride. An amazing Jeep trail. Bucket list item.
  • Love this county road. Took my outback on it.
