Small but friendly. Owners were wonderful and their Sangria special was the best. Bought 3 very easy to make for yourself or friends.
This place was interesting to say the least. To begin with, it is located in what felt like a basemen/garaget and the "tour" was given by the husband and wife who own the winery. In the GROUPON we pur... read more »
We weren't ever even able to get in. The lady was rude on the phone.....and when we actually went there to try to check it out, the "courtyard" was was overgrown and neglected.... very weird signage o... read more »
I was at Tarpon Springs Castle Winery with a group of friends this afternoon for a couple of hours enjoying the wine tasting and all that went with it. Loved the wine, especially the Merlot. This has to be the best place in the area to buy your wine! They are chemical free! We all learned a lot about wine and how to know the good from the bad. We all enjoyed the art and the great stories behind it all. We all left with a bottle of wine and a crystal wine glass. We had used the Groupon and it was well worth it! Thank you Diana and Joe for a lovely afternoon.
We stopped in more out of curiosity than wanting to have a wine tasting and ended up just checking the place out. The couple that runs the place are seniors and the place has a bit of an eclectic feel, not what you would anticipate as a wine tasting. The facilities are nothing fancy here but it does have that surreal feel, like a scene from a Tarantino film. I think it's worth the stop just for the experience of it all.
We purchased the "cheese and chocolate" groupon. it came with 5 tastings a bottle of wine cheese and chocolate. the wine was decent. The chocolate was holoween chocolate and the cheese was a small tub of cream cheese. Dont get your hopes up. If we had paid full price for this i would have complained. The couple who owns it are very odd. She told us we would be having reds and white wines but only served us reds and then told us if we wanted to taste the whites we would have to pay extra. i gave it 2 stars because the wine wasnt horrible. Dont go to this if your expecting a great wine tasting with knowledgable people . go here if you want to drink wine and laugh about how awkward this experiance is.
It's an old two story house where the bottom floor is made to serve wine, sell gifts, sit and drink wine while the elderly couple entertain. There isn't any music and plenty of moments when it's awkwardly quiet. The wife is a little cooky and seemed easily agitated. It was not what we expected. The wine ok and I did the wine snob groupon and I didn't learn anything. I don't recommend.
I bought a Groupon and when I was unable to go during open business hours I asked to instead redeem the paid value for two bottles of wine. They told me that would be illegal because they signed a contract stating that they could only sell me the promotional value. When I tried to show them the Groupon document stating the paid value can be used for any purchase at the location, they refused to look at it. They then offered me one bottle of wine for the $39 voucher and told me it was "a great deal". I was there shaking and crying for half an hour trying to explain to them that the paid value should still be good towards any purchase I choose. They ripped me off and the place was a disgusting dump anyways. NEVER GOING BACK!
