  • Small but friendly. Owners were wonderful and their Sangria special was the best. Bought 3 very easy to make for yourself or friends.
  • This place was interesting to say the least. To begin with, it is located in what felt like a basemen/garaget and the "tour" was given by the husband and wife who own the winery. In the GROUPON we pur...  more »

  • My friend purchased a Groupon for the wine tasting with 2 keepsake wine glasses, art tour and chocolate. The location was a bit difficult to find at first and parking was quite limited. We walked in to find a small, cluttered room filled with plastic tables and chairs and were quickly directed by the female owner to sit at a specific table. Each place setting had a wine glass and a sampler box of Halloween themed Whitman's chocolate. Not really what I expected for chocolate since there are many wonderful locally owned chocolatiers that would have been glad to partner with this winery that was also locally owned. Not to mention it was NOT Halloween. The wine tasting began with the couple asking each other if it was time to start. And at 3:03 pm, they locked the door and we began. The man excused himself to go to the wine making area and the women yelled at him not to run over her toes in his motorized wheelchair. Then she started by telling us that she was very wealthy growing up. This so called wine tasting appeared to be more like a description of the adventures they had locating the wine and how much money everything cost. The elderly man was delightful and had such character when he was showing us the art room and the wine making process. At checkout, I asked about sampling some of the sangria they had and the woman said in a non polite way "yes you can when it's your turn." So my friend and I relegated ourselves back to the plastic chairs as if we'd been scolded. When she finally finished helping the couple in front of us, she called out very loudly "Hello!" to get our attention, even though we were just steps away. It was very rude and I can't say I've ever been treated that way by a small business owner. A bottle of wine was about $30 each too, which in my opinion is rather expensive. As we exited, I noticed a dead cockroach on the floor. I'm all for supporting local, small businesses but after my experience here, I will likely not return or recommend this place to anyone I know.
  • Good Groupon deal! Really enjoyed the Merlot and my wife loved the Castillo Rojo. Wonderful elderly couple with lots of fun anecdotes and a nice art collection. I recommend this experience to anyone who's looking for something out of the ordinary.
  • I was at Tarpon Springs Castle Winery with a group of friends this afternoon for a couple of hours enjoying the wine tasting and all that went with it. Loved the wine, especially the Merlot. This has to be the best place in the area to buy your wine! They are chemical free! We all learned a lot about wine and how to know the good from the bad. We all enjoyed the art and the great stories behind it all. We all left with a bottle of wine and a crystal wine glass. We had used the Groupon and it was well worth it! Thank you Diana and Joe for a lovely afternoon.
  • We stopped in more out of curiosity than wanting to have a wine tasting and ended up just checking the place out. The couple that runs the place are seniors and the place has a bit of an eclectic feel, not what you would anticipate as a wine tasting. The facilities are nothing fancy here but it does have that surreal feel, like a scene from a Tarantino film. I think it's worth the stop just for the experience of it all.
  • It's an old two story house where the bottom floor is made to serve wine, sell gifts, sit and drink wine while the elderly couple entertain. There isn't any music and plenty of moments when it's awkwardly quiet. The wife is a little cooky and seemed easily agitated. It was not what we expected. The wine ok and I did the wine snob groupon and I didn't learn anything. I don't recommend.
