  • The drive from Taos on the Wild Rivers Backcountry Byway is great. We then got out & hiked the La Junta Trail down to where the Red & Rio Grande rivers merge. The hike is only 1.2 miles each way, but ...  more »
  • We took a hike into the gorge and it was spectacular. The trail was steep but well maintained with stone walls, steel and wood stairways and handrails where needed. The trail goes all the way down to ...  more »
  • After hiking down the Big Arsenic trail to Rio Grande below, when I reached the river, I sat on a Basal rock on the bank and let the experience soak in. It was a joy to the senses just to be there.
