A couple of things for small kids to do here, like get on a horse saddle and play with a toy train. The highlight for us was the Columbia cafe at the end of going through the museum.  more »

Gives an educational overview of the past and present of Florida. The museum is not too big and has enough business to Captivate and the children.

Perfect museum. Prices are decent for what you see. The history in here in a true jewel to admire. Big museum with exhibits that show history. Overall very pleased. Will be coming back soon.

This is an excellent museum. I have never seen it too crowded and there is a lot of cool information about Tampa. Be sure to get yourself a Cuban at the Columbia restaurant right in the lobby.

Whether you're from Tampa or Taipei, this museum has something to offer everyone. In particular the section on the indigenous Seminole tribe was informative and touching. There are 2 videos in 2 theaters that are easy to walk by, if you see nothing else make sure you see the Cotanchobee video. The rest of the museum is very modern and informative about modern Tampa, it's a little pricey but coupons are available everywhere to make it cheaper.

Well designed exhibits in a large new building on the Tampa channel waterfront. Free parking and a lovely waterfront trail and park make this a great stop.

The Tampa Bay History Center is a combination of permanent exhibits featuring historical aspects of early Florida as well as rotating exhibits of art, culture, and bay area artifacts. I t has an in depth look at old Tampa, from it's time as mostly swamp land up to modern day. It's a good learning experience for kids and a great place to go and reminisce if you have been in the area for a while.
