Science Museum
Experience the world of science firsthand at Museum Of Science & Industry. The museum regularly updates its exhibits to provide the visitors with insight into the latest discoveries in physics, medical science, meteorology, zoology, astronomy, and many other fields. Many exhibits are fully interactive, giving both the kids and adults an opportunity to learn how science works through practical use. Kids won't want to miss is the specialized children's science center. The museum has an IMAX dome theater showing (for an additional fee) educational and documentary films on a 975 sq m (10,500 sq ft) viewing area. While the dome screen provides unmatched full-field vision, some viewers may feel dizzy. • A great place and many, many interactive exhibits for kids. I would highly suggest you do not go during a time, when camps are going through. There was a camp called Imagination Schools of North Manatee. WOW! They were pulling and grabbing at the exhibits and overtaking everything. It kind of ruined all the cool exhibits they had available. Otherwise, it was a cool place...TIP: There are two buildings and a playground. Don't miss any of it!
  • Loved our visit! This was the last stop on our week long Florida tour. We visited amusement parks, two aquariums, and multiple beaches. I think this was our favorite spot of all. We thoroughly enjoyed the Dome IMAX, Kids in Charge, and all the other exhibits. My personal favorite was the planetarium. The place was nearly empty, so we had plenty of time to do everything. And the food from the cafe was great!
  • MOSI is great with or without kids! Plenty of things for active minded children, and calmer children. Want to run and do active things? There's a place for that! Want kid friendly interactive displays that make them think and learn? There's a place for that! Want to explore exhibits without kids in tow? The displays are interesting and informative! The butterfly garden is relaxing and lovely, and cafe makes everything fresh, and the gift shop is fun too. Inexpensive and fun day, indoors in our Florida weather.
  • We had a great time! The employees/volunteers were fantastic. The IMAX theater was awesome as usual. This was our sixth visit with many more to come. Great place to the family
  • Great place my kids have loved it since they were young. 14 year old wanted to go last weekend and we did ropes course, watched nature film in IMAX done theatre (very dangerous for tired old dudes, comfortable seats, air conditioning, etc) spent the balance of the time exploring the hands on exhibits and ended up checking out the butterflies. Fun times!
