Categories: Science Museums, Museums
Experience the world of science firsthand at MOSI : Museum of Science & Industry. The museum regularly updates its exhibits to provide the visitors with insight into the latest discoveries in physics, medical science, meteorology, zoology, astronomy, and many other fields. Many exhibits are fully interactive, giving both the kids and adults an opportunity to learn how science works through practical use. Kids won't want to miss is the specialized children's science center. The museum has an IMAX dome theater showing (for an additional fee) educational and documentary films on a 975 sq m (10,500 sq ft) viewing area. While the dome screen provides unmatched full-field vision, some viewers may feel dizzy. The place is very nice for children and I will say the movie dome theater was beautiful that why i give it one more star; however, the games, the movie itself and other activities were kind of boring.... read more »
The children seem to enjoy the MOSI, but much of it is more of a playground than an educational environment. There is some science here, but most parents don't seem to take the time to be explaining w... read more »
I have been to Mosi a few times and I'm never disappointed, until today. They are doing a lot of work on the exhibits and I found a lot of the stuff I like to visit is closed for now. I had never take... read more »
Big space with good roving exhibits. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the underlying science. Probably best for kids 8 - 14. Some of the exhibits were a little dated; not as many truly hands-on exhibits compared to science museums in other cities. Overall a fun time for the kids (ages 8 - 12). (Has reciprocal agreements with other museums.)
Went today. Not worth it. Entire 2nd floor under construction. When I came about 15 years, I had such a memorable experience. My kids were done with this place in about an hour. They had no desire to see the movie. My kids were happier after I had to pay extra for a simulator ride and a rope course. Health exhibit and kids exhibit seemed to be the only areas worth spending time in and seemed like the only areas that were open.
It's great! Tons of STEM education. I love the robotics room, where u can control and code different bots. There always changing what's in it too! They have cool drones to fly, huge foam blocks to build with, and tons of interactive science for the kids to play with.
It's a good spot to bring young kids thanks to their Kid Zone-like area. However, many exhibits are 10-15 years out of date. The IMAX is very fun and worth going to and their planetarium has also been a favorite. We have the year pass and will continue to go, but I don't think we would do the year again.
A very fun experience for my kids (6 ans 12 years). You can easily spend 8 hours only in the 3D Movie and "Kids in Charge". I will not give a 5 stars because of 2 reasons: Food is a problem. They don't have good food there !!! In the next time I will bring mine. Second reason, they need to improve maintenance ! Somethings are not working well.
