  • As long as I've lived in Tampa (more than 30 years), my first experience at Lowry Park Zoo was last year. I was amazed at how wonderful it was. It was clean, the animals and exhibits were great and it...  more »
  • This is a great zoo for all. I love the orangatangs. They have some very exotic animals and the setting is beautiful.  more »
  • This year we were lucky enough to see the dinosaurs it was awesome. we also took the safari ride which is free. They had chickens in all the cages to keep the insects at bay, brilliant!  more »

  • As a child, I spent almost every weekend in this park. It's been renovated and improved since then - the playground is fantastic. The trails and equipment are serviceable but need to be replaced. It's a great place to spend an afternoon in northern Seminole Heights.
  • It's not the largest zoo you might find and it is located in an odd location in Tampa but it is finely designed with unique animal exhibits that makes the viewing experience very pleasurable. Food vendors here is your typical theme park cuisine and I would rate it right at average, nothing spectacular or memorable.
  • Beautiful riverside park. Playground, covered picnic areas, paved walkways, a winding creek, wildlife, nicely landscaped, and a fruit orchard. Great local gem.
  • We are here several times a year for family gatherings. Located on the Hillsborough River, not too far north of downtown Tampa, & very close to I-275,, this park is ACROSS the street from Lowry Park Zoo. Shelters can be reserved from the City of Tampa for a small fee, but inconveniently NOT online - you have to visit their office on Columbus near Himes. This is the only reason I give this park 4 stars - it's 2015, it should be easier to reserve a shelter! We've been in many different shelters throughout the park, and all have been a great size for our large family. You can look online to see how big each shelter is, including number of tables & location within the park, which is helpful for reserving a shelter. Except, as I've mentioned, not being able to actually reserve online. Bathrooms are hit or miss here. The last time we were here, the bathroom by the large playground was fairly clean, but today it was not. The park has two great playgrounds, plus a boat ramp, and a dock, so there's really something for everyone, right on the Hillsborough River in urban Tampa!
  • Beautiful park, but the restrooms are filthy and poorly maintained.
