Lettuce Lake Regional Park, Tampa

#4 of 19 in Parks in Tampa
Explore a variety of ecosystems at Lettuce Lake Regional Park. See wetlands with alligators, oak forests, cypress trees, and floodplains as you walk on the more than 1,067 m (3,500 ft) boardwalk. From the boardwalk, make your way to the observation tower for a view of the entire park. From here, you can spot the open field with picnic tables, barbecue pits, and plenty of space to play sports. You also can view the natural surroundings from the water in a rented kayak or canoe. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing to beat the heat, and remember to bring drinking water. • We had a great time walking along the boardwalk and viewing all the nature that Florida has to offer. Lots of picnicking places and all types of walking trails.  more »
  • Read the reviews on Trip Advisor on "things to do" in the Tampa area. We have no interest in amusement parks so we followed the reviews of this lovely area in the city. It lived up to our expectations...  more »
  • Lots to see when walking through theatre trails. Flowers, greens, animals, birds, butterflies, all of God's creatures!  more »
  • So many great Trails through the woods, and a board walk along the river. I love the tower! You can see three different areas of the river, and so many kinds of birds like Ospreys bald eagles all kinds of cranes and storks and Ibis, Turtles sunning themselves, and occasional alligator and some beautiful native snakes and lizards. My daughter has had her birthday party there four times in her life and they were always a hit. There are tons of separate playgrounds, and pavilions with built-in barbecues. It's a great place to just go for a walk, ride your bike, or have a get together with family and friends, while experiencing the beauty of Florida's own flora and fauna!
  • This is a must-see location that very few people know about, even locals! There is a big playground, tons of picnic areas, walking trails, bike trails, and my personal favorite - the boardwalk! If you walk along the boardwalk it takes you through a swampy area next to the Hillsborough river (you can rent canoes there too!), where you can spot wild gators from the safety of the boardwalk! Its truly amazing seeing baby to big gators in their natural habitat. A lot of it is shaded too, so it's such a lovely walk to take. Its a dog friendly park, but keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk, however everywhere else they are welcome. Also, it is only $2 per vehicle to enter! So its family friendly and extremely affordable!
  • It costs 2$ per vehicle to get in. But it's totally worth it. The park has a very scenic boardwalk that overlooks the water and dirt trails to walk down through the forest. The playground is very nice. Lots of swings, slides, and a big sandbox. I'd say it's more crowded on the weekends but the times I've gone on the weekdays aren't crowded. There's plenty of room for my little one to run around and have fun. There's plenty of shade too. Also charcoal grills. I love taking the family here to get outdoors and have a great time!
  • The best park in Hillsborough county. Sunrise/sunset are the best times as their are fewer people and it'll be easier to view the birds and animals, without the screaming kids and teenagers and their radios. It can get busy during the day. Very cheap for the hours of enjoyment.
  • One of my favorite parks. So much wildlife, great boardwalk where you can see a lot birds, gators, and snakes. My kids love this place and we try to go often. The tower is awesome, you can see so much. I have been coming here for 13 years and still one of my favorites!!!! Side note pretty crowded every weekend.
