  • This is a stunning park with a long quiet boardwalk surrounded by water and so many greens trees and plants. We saw two alligators, a rabbit, various types of birds, and a turtle swimming by.It's a great park for couples and traveling across the boardwalk will make for a simple romantic date. It's also a great park for children and families to relax, play and eat. It gives you a quiet deep countryside experience although it's right in the middle of a busy Tampa area. It's a nature and sun lovers dream park. I love it and will be a frequent visitor!
  • This park is one of my favorites to go to. :) Every time I come here, I have a good time. The shade from the trees helps make the walks along the trails and boardwalk feel nice, even in the blistering heat. The shelters are always very well kept, and park rangers that I've interacted with have been considerate and polite. I have yet to go canoeing, which is something I'm planning on doing, but when I watch others in the water, it looks fun. I actually liked this place so much, this is where I held my wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. For anyone on a tight budget, I recommend this place; minimal decorations are needed, because the scenery from the nature of the park itself is pretty enough, and the weather is very nice during autumn and winter.
  • Great birding. Multiple habitats, accessible on well maintained trails. Plenty of space to go exploring and get out alone. Boardwalk access to Hillsborough River and wetlands habitats. (canoe rentals available) Lots of picnic areas with well kept restrooms. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Monitored well enough to keep it safe - been there many many times alone and never felt uncomfortable. Birders might want to avoid weekends as the park gets a lot of recreational use.
  • Lettuce Lake is a regular on our Florida park adventures. It is easy to get to and is just a few minutes off the interstate. My kids love the boardwalk and tower. Gator sightings are almost guaranteed along with tons of other wildlife. If you want to get a good look at florida beyond the beaches, this is a great place to start.
  • Ideal if you enjoy trials and seeing nature. This is a great park in a great location. If you're not a fan of walking a lot, there is a good visitors center and it is a short work to an observation tower. From there you can see over the park and hopefully see the resident gators. The boardwalk is a nice stroll through pristine Floridian country. For the small price of admission, this is definitely worth it!
