#6 of 28 in Parks in Tampa
The new, eight-acre Curtis Hixon park sits on the banks of the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. Amenities include the Great Lawn with flexible perimeter seating to accommodate a wide range of programming and performances, a dog run, trails, a kiosk with restrooms and a Pavilion building with restrooms.

There are two interactive fountains, or spraygrounds: the Louver Fountain on the east side of the park along Ashley Drive and the Mist Fountain on the west side the park along the Riverwalk. The park's new playground features an interactive NEOS 360 Ring, which combines video games with aerobic exercise and is the first of its kind in the southeast United States.

A section of the Riverwalk runs through the park connecting the David Straz Performing Arts Center to the Glazer Children's Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art.

  • I love this park! The water views are phenomenal. There's always some fun community event happening here. I've had many a picnic here and enjoyed it. The park is well maintained. My one and only gripe is that the bathrooms are only singles. The lines can get pretty long for one toilet during events. Otherwise it's a fun park with lots of restaurants nearby.
  • I really like that this park is downtown, they even have some great toys for the kids to play with. There's a lot of wide open space and room to run and jump ride bikes skateboard Etc as it is right by the boardwalk. My only downside to this park is that in the summer it gets extremely hot and there is no sun cover. All of the toys at the park become very difficult to deal with. Bring a bathing suit
  • A beautiful park along with a paved trail down the bay! Lots of things to do also while your down there like; and interactive jungle gym, beautiful lights for night walks, a cute dog park. It also has nice places to sit with tables and a great view of the university. The park also has an amazing view of the city. If your looking to take picture with an awesome back round here is the place. The park also holds monthly events.
  • This park adds to the beauty of Tampa downtown. This is a place to relax, enjoy with your friends and families. Kids in particular love this place since it has a vast play area for them to run around. You can see kids museum adjacent to it. Lot of events happen here during weekends. On one side of the river bank you can see people practicing yoga, jogging, walking, and cycling. On the other side you can see people enjoying the breeze sleeping in hammocks, and on the lawn.
  • Since the city Tampa built the water walk a long theme river, more events in downtown Tampa, this park has been changed a lot. For the beautiful weather today with the art festival, the park was lively, many nice arts and crafts shops, plus the great view of Hillsborough river with old bridge and University of Tampa. Also you can walk along the river walk, enjoy the beauty and peaceful of Tampa city, stop by any restaurants to have some delicious drinks and food.
