#7 of 20 in Parks in Tampa
The new, eight-acre Curtis Hixon park sits on the banks of the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. Amenities include the Great Lawn with flexible perimeter seating to accommodate a wide range of programming and performances, a dog run, trails, a kiosk with restrooms and a Pavilion building with restrooms.

There are two interactive fountains, or spraygrounds: the Louver Fountain on the east side of the park along Ashley Drive and the Mist Fountain on the west side the park along the Riverwalk. The park's new playground features an interactive NEOS 360 Ring, which combines video games with aerobic exercise and is the first of its kind in the southeast United States.

A section of the Riverwalk runs through the park connecting the David Straz Performing Arts Center to the Glazer Children's Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art.

  • Is a nice park BUT HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY TAKING OVER THIS WATER PARK. MY DAUGHTER WAS ENJOYING THE AREA WHEN SUDDENLY THIS HOMELESS WOMAN ENTER THE AREA AND STARTED TO SHOWER RIGHT THERE!! REMOVING HER CLOTHES DISGUSTING!!! I TOOK MY DAUGHTER AND RUN OUT OF THERE.. NO A SINGLE COP AROUND THE AREA!! REALLY?!?????
  • Took the young ones to walk there one evening. What a great public space! The lights are dynamic, slowly changing colors. The palm trees, the bridge, and the museums next door all participate. It's a very inviting place to experience.
  • One of my favorite parks to take our family. It's right on the river and is beautiful at night.y husband and I also come here for dates. They rent bikes that are fun to take in Riverwalk. There's a cool playground, fountains for the kids to run through, a dog park, public restrooms, public exercise classes, food truck rallys, outdoor concerts and so much more. Whenever we have friends visiting us from out of town, we take them here. You have to pay to park in the parking garage, but it's a fair price. I took off one star because there used to be a huge green lawn but it's dying. They need to restore it or replace.
  • Awesome park. Really beautiful. Lots of people & dog watching. There's a fun splash pad, great playground for kids of all ages. It's close to museums and restaurants. There are plenty of special events and the free concerts are great. It's right on the water so it's a nice place to watch the boats go by. You can see the beautiful University of Tampa and easily hop on the Riverwalk. I love it here.
