  • When in town, you must stop here! My brother took us to Point Defiance Zoo while we were visiting from Arizona. The zoo is huge! Incredible! Nothing like what we have in Phoenix. The aquarium is massive! The food was pretty tasty. There's lots of places to get food snacks and ice cream here. Even a gift shop!
  • It's pretty fantastic! I've been here several times and the zoo staff is always friendly. Yesterday my fiancĂ©e and I did the Shark Dive! It was a lot of fun. The staff were very knowledgeable and were very accommodating. We're definitely going to do it again.
  • Went to a wedding here. It was the first time I had ever been to point defiance. The grounds were well kept. I can only promote the aquarium since the Zoo was closed though they did bring out an aardvark and a sloth for the guests! Catering was well done and it was a real party! The aquariums are beautiful and they have some really neat fish. I would highly recommend this place as a venue for weddings or to bring the family. Not sure if they do night events but the stargazing up there is probably the best in that area.
  • Loved the animal show. Got to see an anteater, a snow leopard and an aardvark up close at the show. Also enjoyed the tiger talk. Costruction in the park made getting to the parking difficult, but we figured it out. Buy your tickets ahead of time for a discount!
  • My kids and I went to the Tacoma Zoo this summer after having not been for a few years. They are ages 7 and 5, and they LOVED it. Personally, I wish there were just a few more animals to see, but I do like the manageable size and layout. I found it easy to cover pretty much everything in about 4 hours, and after that, we were all exhausted. The polar bears were definitely a highlight, and we also loved the aquarium, and the baby clouded leopards. This is definitely a not-to-miss attraction in the Puget Sound area if you've got kids.
