  • This museum is maintained by donations from people and companies and has an entire floor of amazing attractions for children up to the age of 8-9. If you have kids at that age, the visit is a must. By Saturday, the parking lot in front of the Museum you pay U $6.50 for up to 3 hours. On input or output you, if you wish, you can make a donation of any amount for the maintenance of the Museum.

  • My kids (2 and 4) had a blast at this museum. Go and support this gem in the community. They work on a pay what you can system so no one gets denied. So many activities for the kids!  more »
  • Delightful hands-on innovative play stations, including an extensive series of water tables. Very clever use of space, and wonderful ways to stimulate kids' imaginations. Our 2 year old granddaughter ...  more »

  • What a bummer. Arrived 15 minutes before it closed for deep cleaning Tuesdays. Location is quite small and activities limited. This place would be a nightmare on a weekend or other prime visiting hours. The water table was fun, the interactive water exhibit was a bust. What toddler wants to peer to the ceiling and around fixtures to try and view how water behaves. The vacuum tube with the kerchief was a hit yet very small and didn't cater to more than one child. The ship was an interesting idea where kids pedal to illuminate lights only viewed from the floor.
  • Clean and super fun! My toddler absolutely loves the water area and employees are very good at pushing all the water from the floor into the drain. I love how there’s a building section to explore creativity as well! If you’re in the area then you definitely need to bring your children here for a visit!
  • We came on New Year's Eve and were blown away! The employees are helpful, friendly, and keep the whole location neat and clean. We've been to other Children's Museums that are completely destroyed by the end of the day, this was an hour before closing and it was spotless, organized, and full of happy kids and parents. I LOVED the exhibits. It was NYE, and they even had a small dance party with music and glowing toys for kids to celebrate New Year's. The tool shop area is very well stocked and our kids loved it; it was hard to tear them away from the flying ship, though! This museum is small, but so full of well-laid-out exhibits that we'll return here any chance we get. Thank you, Tacoma Children's Museum! We'll be back!
  • Extremely fun for kids, and easy to manage for adults. There are several areas that make it fun for all kids of many different ages. If you need a play date idea this is it. This place was an amazing idea and works well in practice. Also a great place for Birthday parties.
  • This is a great place for children of all ages to roam and explore, with parent supervision [Or if they are old enough, a place to let them loose on their own for a little bit]. They take donations for entry, and dropping off your state ID as collateral will get you a free locker. I cannot overstate how great this place is. There are a number of sections to play in. There is a Forest themed gym with camping themed pillows and a small kitchen play set for make believe. There is a water trough section, complete with appropriate toys, water diversion tools, and some stone tiles on the wall to "water paint" on. There is a small wood block section for building with lots and lots of blocks. There is a space ship jungle gym, with a costume section on the wall behind it. There is a small slide, near a blower tube to play with scarfs. For older children, there are giant Lincoln logs and a marble drop wall where creativity is your only limit. And finally there is a artsy area in the center that has changing activities.
