Just visited Polyface Farms yesterday. Started by noted author and farmer Joel Salatin's parents back in 1961. Joel Salatin is the person who learned from his father this type of farming and ecosystem... more »
Polyface Farms is a unique, rural, off-the-beaten-path gem that's worth the drive! Joel Salatin, the owner of Polyface, is all about organic, natural farming that's good for both you and the environme... more »
Polyface Farms is an incredible experience for the farmers at heart. Joel Salatin has written books on books expressing his heart behind his farming and it's amazing to see it up close. As (hopeful) future farmers, and as human beings who eat food, we were so thrilled with their open door policy. We were shown a map and told we were able to walk all over. We were able to see into the chickens, pigs, and cows' daily lives. It was clean, though still a very functioning, efficient farm. Though the family has gained notoriety in the country and the world, the farm maintains its local feel. It's not showy, it's down to earth - it's real. We loved visiting here and look forward to making our way back. Thank you for being a farm with integrity and standards. And thanks for having us! Also, please don't believe a bit of what Collin D. has to say, that's just nonsense trolling. I was there yesterday and there wasn't one sheep that I could see, as is featured in his photo, and there wasn't one red-brick wall anywhere within any kind of access to the cows, as in his photo. Nonsense. Just go enjoy the farm!
If you want to eat healthy and chemical free, this is the place to go! Great quality food!
This is the best farm in the ENTIRE WORLD! Truly sustainable, non corporate, farming that's both humane and healthy.
We had a wonderful visit! This farm is represents everything that should be the norm for all farms.
If you think food comes from the super market get out to polyface farm and get an education, for real. Joel and Daniel will show you around their place, show you and tell you how they do it and how you can do it too. Total open door policy, no dirty little secrets or hidden off limits sections of the farm. Ask any question(s) and it will be answered. If you have never heard of this farm or these guys do yourself a favor and search Polyface, Joel Salatin or Daniel Salatin on YouTube there is only about a weeks worth of content to watch. The Polyface folks are extremely knowledgeable and great at what they do but are super humble. So do some research online, read a few of Joel's books then go on a tour of their farm. You will not regret it........
