The Lost Sea Adventure explores the Craighead Caverns, home to America's largest underground lake. Take the 1.2 km (0.75 mi) guided walk to see the impressive formations. Your guide will tell you about the caverns' varied history, including a period as a Cherokee meeting place, as well as a gunpowder-materials mining site for Confederate soldiers. The tour ends with a glass-bottom boat trip on the massive Lost Sea. Back above ground, explore Old Sweetwater Village, an artificial town full of old-Tennessee charm with food and souvenir stores. If you'd like to see more, take a self-guided walk along the 0.5-km (0.33 mi) forested nature trail. • Or tour guide KC was great! The History is cool but the price for it is totally too high. $157 for a family of 6. Adults should be about $15.

  • I went on 7/4/2021 and it was one of the coolest experiences of my entire life. I cannot recommend it enough!! Took about an hour and a half. It is a guided tour but you can definitely spread out and go at your own pace. The tour guide Brianne was perfect, she answered every single question I had and she made the tour fun. The boat ride was a magical experience. I will absolutely be going back!
  • After 28 years my visit to the Lost Sea was just as memorable! This cavern system is vast with huge rooms and lots of space. The walkway isn't paved and can get slippery at times. The hike down isn't bad but the hike up can be somewhat intense and strenuous with an altitude change that makes it harder to breathe. They do provide rest areas on the way back up. The beautiful sea hidden in the mountain is an amazing wonder and getting to go out in the boats and feed the trout is awesome. Our entire family enjoyed it! Tour guide was informative and funny! Awesome history here and a beautiful example of God's amazing artwork!
  • We had a great time! Our guides were terrific! They had some mad good dad jokes! Casey and Riley were their names I believe. My people! The caves were awesome, the underground lake was beautiful! Be prepared to walk and there are some gradual and somewhat steep inclines. This wouldn't be ideal for people with breathing issues or heart conditions but they do warn you ahead of time. Great place and glad we went!
  • Outstanding tourist trap. Worth the admission. We did two big tourist things that day and my 9 yr old said this was the best. The boat ride part is the capstone of the tour. Cool cavern tour, but the Sea is the best part for sure. The walking path is fairly wide, defined, and it is easy to follow the tour guide. But sections can be steep. Just a caution to those who may have trouble on a hike.
  • We loved everything about this place. It’s so much more than just a lake in a cave. This is an adventure for all people. We did the most basic tour and it was backed tons with interesting history and one of a kind experiences. Becca was an awesome guide. 10/10 would go again.
