  • Pro shop, bag staff and starter were great. Anyone driving a machine was not, (mowers, sand rake, gators) especially cart girl. They drove, with little consideration to etiquette. Only saw beverage ca...  more »
  • Played the courses here many times in previous years. This year not good for the following reasons. 1. The starter was very abrupt, and when we gave the name and time of our group, he said "s**t ", an...  more »
  • The greens are in terrible condition right now...something about some weed killer that was put on them. I included a picture of one green but the rest were almost as bad. The rest of the course was in...  more »

  • Buyer Beware! The greens are SHOT. I wouldn't pay $149 due to the greens. Ask for a discount. According to employees, they were sold the wrong fertilizer. The greens are completely burnt out. Other than that, the course is in excellent shape (fairways, tee boxes are perfect. Staff was great as always. It's a shame. The nicest course in the area has messed up greens.
  • Played all 3 layouts and all 3 lots of fun. Gave 4 only because greens on Mackay are healing from February damage. Friendly people. Highly recommend.
  • We were very disappointed with the management and condition of the greens. As we drove into the course, we noted discoloration of the greens. We asked about it before we paid, we were told that the greens had been stressed due to improper treatment with chemicals but we're rolling true. Well we paid our full green fee and proceeded to play. It only took us to the first hole to realize we had flat out been lied to, the greens were bumpy, and appeared to be dead with those ares painted green. After playing the 2 previous days on courses with excellent conditions, greens included, at lower fees than here, we really felt taken advantage of. It would have been nice to have been alerted in advance of the condition of the greens, after all with the cost of golf, one wants to feel you get what you pay for. That is not the case at Thistle at this time.
  • The most unique and stunning Golf Club and gated community for many miles around. You will feel as though you've been transported to the Scottish Highlands with the authentic architecture of the upscale clubhouse and high-end homes. Truly must see in person to appreciate.
  • The good, the course is awesome and the greens were fantastic. The bad, some of the rangers at this course are the worst I have encountered in 30 years of playing golf. We had a group of five, played a threesome and a twosome. We were taking our time so we wouldn't constantly be pushing the foursome in front of us and took about 5 minutes extra at the turn because we had been waiting every shot on the front side and no one was close to keeping up with us behind our group. The ranger came by on hole 11 and told us we were half a hole behind. We explained no one was waiting on us and we were trying to be polite and not push the group in front since we had two small groups. He told us to pick up and catch them or speed up. We caught them on the next hole and then waited 5 minutes a shot for the rest of the round, having to play games on the tee boxes to keep from falling asleep. No group behind us caught up. We played the round in 3 hours 50 minutes, even waiting every shot. No reason for the rangers to be jerks when everyone there is on vacation. Totally ruined the round. Additionally, there credit card machine went down and they made one of our guys leave his credit card for the round so he could buy balls. Plenty of other courses in the area if you are looking for Southern hospitality, these guys brought their attitude down with them when they moved.
