  • Beautiful sites. The camp ground is spread out with beautiful trees. There are hiking trails and a large lake. The best part for me was super hot water. After a day of bike riding and hiking it felt.....  more »
  • Camped here in screened shelter #5 on the doctors creek side for Easter. It’s a really nice spot right on the water with a large grassy area. The park was packed but still quiet and the traffic was...  more »
  • I disagree with Heather L about the cabins at the South Sulphur Unit. We stayed in a cabin last October 23, 2019 (I had to choose October 2020). This is not a Holiday Inn Express. It is a cabin at a.....  more »
  • Nice hiking trails. Park roads are excellent...good for cycling. Gentle hills, very nicely wooded. Deer are seen several times daily. Swim beach is nice. Bath houses are kept up well. Lawn areas are very well maintained. Great place for day trip or camping!
  • Well kept park grounds. Swimming area and day use areas were very nice. Camping sites were long enough for most campers. Decent shade. Campground sites didn't have a view of the lake. Electric service was so-so. Sat right at 110 or just below on 30 amp service for most of our trip, and that was with only two other campers on our loop. I suspect it would be pretty bad when the park fills up. No full hookup sites, so using the bath house was a must. Unfortunately, have to down grade on how much care was given to cleanliness here. Bathrooms had wasp and bird nests all over. Had to clean out spider webs to get in the shower. Some showers didn't work, and others didn't work right. Wife had a scorpion try to climb on her foot while taking a shower. We mostly chalk up all these to the camping experience and just roll with it. But it wouldn't take much to run a pressure washer on the outside and inside of the bath house every now and then.
  • We camp here often as we have family in the area. Campsites are on the lake and shaded. Just resurfaced the roads and sites. Clean and quiet. Added bonus, you can now reserve your site online. No more first come, first serve. Love it here!
  • Great place, 5$ entrance fee per adult over 13, and 10$ per night at water hook-up only, or 20$ per night at electricity and water hook-up sites. Park is beautiful and well kept, but always remember to pick up after yourselves. Take out what you take in!
  • This was the worst camping experience I've ever had. Don't trust online reservation photos because they are very misleading. We arrived to our campsite and immediately noticed a foul odor. Then we realized that the whole area near the shoreline was covered in dead fish. The campsites are packed together but we had driven 2 hours just to get there. After deliberating what to do we went driving around the park hoping to find a good spot. We were lucky enough to find a spot to fit our tent and have access to the water. Unfortunately the water was disgusting. It was foaming with a metallic hue washing up to the shore. So we didn't even get in the water. It was such a disappointment that we will never go back.
