  • Very quiet park. We saw lots of deer so don't drive fast on the winding road. The hiking trails are nice and they have a whole area dedicated to the horse crowd.
  • We recently purchased a travel trailer and for now we will be visiting the Cooper lake state lark south sulphur unit often. We stayed this past weekend and it was wonderful! Our boys really enjoyed ri...  more »
  • Very nice and clean shelters. The bunk beds are very handy but the mattresses are rough. The scenery is amazing!!! Boat ramp is a little shallow for bigger boats but still manageable.

  • First day here and State park police have been on my case twice today. Not park rangers! Hardly anyone is here and he has been on my case about my little chihuahua dog. My dog is very quiet and minds me well. We been camping together many times. I know there is rules about pets but this man is merciless and I swear he hunts me down. Never in all my years in Texas state parks have I been done like this. But the park is beautiful, well kept and staff are very friendly upon check in. I'm in shelter and its nice and clean. I got 3 days to go so wonder how many times that man will hunt me down...once for unloading my pickup while my Lil dog was near me but sniffing ground not leashed yet and once for taking him to waters edge to wet his paws, not swim and on a leash, just wet his little paws. Very frustrating, he has got to bored with nothing to really do.
  • Love it! Need more camping/fishing essential supplies in the park store though. This would be very convenient for visitors and would make the park a significant revenue as well I think.
  • Self registration, $5 per adult, and $16 campsite with electric. Shower has lots of pressure great and refreshing. Vending machine for wood. Nice park saw dears and wild bunny
  • Very clean and well equipped facilities, loved their air-conditioned "premium shelters. " beautiful lake, treas. Well maintained camping area and trails (they actually mow!).
  • Love this state park. Beautiful lake with lots of large oak and pine trees.
