  • Had $10 per person fee. With it we received noise makers, hats, plenty of appetizer food, soda, DJ, dancing, tv to watch New York Ball drop. I would suggest to Fairystone to place better route signs o...  more »
  • Fairy Stone is a great park. Cabins are unique, old school and spread out in 4 different areas. Try to get a lakeside one if you can. Be aware that the cabins do not have fire rings. You are allowed t...  more »
  • We arrived at the park right as the ranger was going to take a group hunting for Fairy Stones. We waited at the visitor center which is small but has a lot of fun exhibits. Marty, the ranger, was real...  more »

  • The waterfront CCC cabins are a family favorite. We love going in the off season and having a wood fire and watching the sunrise over the water with coffee in hand. This park is very nostalgic. You are in the mountains and feel like in a real state park, not a theme park. Beautifully wood trails, go mushroom hunting early spring or fall. Bring board games and spend quality time together. We would ride down to the beach area once a day if we weren't there already to check email and share photos on instagram etc. I highly recommend this park, don't think summer is the only season to visit a Virginia State Park, the off season without bugspray, sunscreen and crowds is the best!
  • Fairy Stone is jewel in the VA state parks. It has a lovely lake, perfect for fishing or canoe/kayak - about 3 miles I think but a larger lake is right next to it. There lake has a large sandy beach and a wi-fi hotspot. It has many nice cabins, the one where we stayed was built by the CCC and has amazing stonework. The campground seemed nice and has hot showers. There is also a horse camping area. There are a dozen trails, or so, from short overlooks to a 3.3 to a small waterfall. All trails we went on were very well marked and maintained. We only had time for one talk, the moonshine tour, but it was very interesting and full of stories.
  • Great place to take the kids. Fun outdoor activities: Hiking, swimming, camping, volleyball, paddle boats, clean beach. Relaxing and beautiful views
  • They have a nice lake with beaches, cabin rentals, canoeing, campsites, lots of fun things to do here!
  • Really nice place to take your family. Great camping area and swimming. Camping area is pretty high priced for camping but still a nice area.
