This was a perfect halfway point between Chicago and Boulder. We arrived about 3pm and did a quick walk thru the Jones home and barn (unrestored) . As an avid gardener wth an interest in midwestern na... more »

We really enjoyed the bus ride out to the prairie where we were able to experience the prairie the way it would have looked years ago. The ranch house and barn and outbuildings were amazing. It's incr... more »

Drove out to Oklahoma to see family. Made the additional 3 hour journey up into Kansas to see what it was all about, very glad I did. From the Visitor Center it was an easy 3 mile hike out to the scenic overlook for an incredible sunset. Since the trails are open 24/7, I was guided by a full moon as I hiked back out on the Prairie Fire Loop and Davis Trail's. The trails are fairly well maintained, mostly mowed grass and gravel surfaces, making them easily followable at night, even without a head lamp. Can't wait to come back and explore the Crusher Hill and Two Section Pastures.

Brilliant opportunity to see the tallgrass prairie. This is truly a prime example of the unique beauty of Kansas. I've visited here many times in the last couple of years. Incredible and unspoiled view of the prairie. And I've had the great opportunity to see bison herds close - but obviously not so close as to being a danger to myself. Highly recommended for anyone living in Kansas, and anyone visiting our state.

One of my favorite places in Kansas. Gorgeous paths through the Flint Hills. This place truly gives a glimpse of what the first people to cross the prairie saw as they followed the herds. Subtle beauty of the Tallgrass, excellent bird and insect diversity, and that bison herd are all bonuses.

What a beautiful place to stop in our way through Kansas. Rolling green hills. A historic farm. Very nice visitor center with some education about the history and importance of the park.

Absolutely gorgeous color in the setting sun. Nice trails, wild life and even a beautiful drive to get you here. This is a great place to enjoy nature.
