See an array of model trains in action at Choo Choo Barn, home to a variety of tracks running through a recreated model of the local countryside. Head to the facility, housed in a classic Amish-style country barn, and marvel at 150 props and figures, all hand-built, as well as the 22 different trains that zip back and forth around the track. Look closely and you'll recognize many local landmarks in miniature form, including barns, railroad stations, and more. Don't miss watching the videos offered in the museum, which document the process of building the model trains. They will give you a bit more background information on the mechanisms at work. Choo Choo Barn Reviews
We are always to take out grandson on a vacation where we not only take a train ride but also enjoy anything related to trains. We were astonished at not only the size, but the variety, quality and ex... more »
This is great for all ages. My whole family enjoyed it and will be going back whenever we come to PA. more »
Our grandchildren (ages 3 and 18 months) spent about 45 minutes slowly walking around the layout, and they never seemed bored. It takes about 45 to 60 minutes to make sure you don’t miss all of the de... more »
For kids and adults! This was a BIGGER and more impressive exhibit than I was expecting. So much intricate detail in the creation of this gigantic display. There are so many moving parts that seem to interact with each other. It's so interesting to check out all the different areas of the model town. The fire with the responding firetruck and firefighters that actually spray water was probably my favorite part. It's also fun pushing the buttons along the walk to try and see what things it activates.
A family favorite! I can remember going here as a little boy only to return now with my little guys. It’s simply amazing how everything is put together. The trains are all running smoothly with no issues. Most if not all buildings are hand made which makes it even more remarkable.
Stunning creations. Place is small. Would be a lot better if there is more room to move around. I enjoyed every minute. The attention to detail is exceptional. My kids, wife and myself all enjoyed it and that's rare...
This is an amazing model railway! Anyone who loves trains will be transfixed by the action and details found in the layout. From working construction crews, to circus spectaculars, and of course the trains, there is no shortage of things to watch and view. Great for families with young kids and it is very close to other great railroad attractions.
A fabulous destination to bring the family & enjoy! Our 4 year old has loved coming since he was 2, and still finds new things to discover in the expansive layout of toy-trains. Intricately created, & seasonally updated to keep their sweet imaginations growing and observing new things each time! From the night-time simulation to the fire-scene there are so many favorite elements to this sensory experience of simply watching, listening and taking in the sights of this sweet little gem of a train destination! Take your kiddos, and grab a step-stool at the door so they can have even a bit more height to observe the wonder.
