  • Came to Stowe for the first time last winter and immediately regretted it. If you don't buy lift tickets online, expect to pay $129. The Vail prices are showing through already. This is outrageous- more than Jackson Hole for Pete sakes! Anyway the staff are very friendly. Came here on a pow day which got tracked out before noon. The mountain is ok- I was able to hit every trail in a single day. Moguls moguls moguls everywhere. The top of the gondola is quite crowded on the trails, but once you get down a bit the people spread out. I can say I skied Stowe and check it off my list, but I won't be returning. Their top and mid mountain food places didn't open until noon- so after searching for food for over an hour, we finally decided to head to the base area for food. Their crepes are amazing though and $$$$. Lodging in the town is abundant and reasonably priced, with plenty of places to eat at. Overall not thrilled with Stowe.
  • We had fun staying here for the weekend. It wasnt very busy as we expected. The lodge was huge and beautiful. Valet service was great. Staff are friendly. And most of all pet friendly. Prices within the lodge cafe’s and restaurants are pretty steep (as expected) nice hot tubs and heates outdoor pool. Over all we are very satisfied.
  • Over the past month, things seem to be running smoother and the staff appear happier, so Stowe gets another star! Old review from early December 2017- I'm hoping that as the winter goes on, I can give Stowe Mountain Resort a higher rating, because I love the mountain, but so far I haven't been very impressed with how things have started this year. I've witnessed some members of Patrol and Lift Operations being hostile and/or unprofessional to friends and family who I have been skiing/riding with this year, eg. Lift Ops yelling at folks for not putting the bar down quick enough or lifting it "too soon", members of ski patrol yelling at skiers and riders to "slow down" when they were skiing at appropriate speeds for the terrain and level of traffic, and member of patrol yelling at folks for entering the woods on open trails, staff members relocating skis outside the lodge without guests' knowledge. I understand that under new management, things don't always run smoothly at first and changes will be made, but it would be helpful if management could do a better job of making policy changes more clear and refrain from punishing guests for not knowing the new rules, especially if the new rules are not clear. Since I started coming here regularly in 2007, the staff at Stowe have always been wonderful, so I'm hoping the hostility is a passing phase. "Please", "Thank you", and a calm and friendly tone of voice go a long way. :)
  • Use to be a good place to ski. You have to ski around people. To many on the trail at the same time. Need more parking.
  • Absolutely beautiful up here any time of year! We've been here every season and loved it.

Where to stay in Stowe

Where you should stay in Stowe depends on why you’re visiting. If you plan to ski or snowboard and want to minimize your travel time between the gondola and your bed, opt for a place at the base of the resort or as close to it on Route 108 as possible. Look for ski-and-stay packages to save money on the combined cost of lift tickets and accommodations. If skiing or snowboarding is just part of the plan or not on the itinerary at all, stay right in town. You'll find a range of accommodation types, including charming inns and bed and breakfasts, and hotels and motels that serve both visitors on group trips and independent travelers.
