  • With urban areas all around, a place to escape to quiet solitude is wonderful. This park provides that escape. Whether you are hiking or biking, or just want to sit and listen to the sounds of nature,...  more »
  • Nice clean park and they have recently added a beautiful walking bridge at the lake. And the paths are paved so bring your bike! The ranger at the Nature Center was very helpful, and the ranger I met ...  more »
  • We love the remote park here! We have visited here for almost 38 years. We took our kids here when they were you and went back there last year to have a romantic picnic and walk around the mountain.  more »

  • We have been going to Panola for years! Our scout troop volunteers for Friends of State Parks Day, my kids take archery lessons, and we enjoy various programs throughout the year! One of our favorite things is the guided hike. The interpreter is phenomenal and a GREAT example for girls! What a better way to have them interested in Nature and also show that girls can be anything and be AWESOME!!
  • Cool hiking trail. Not the most photogenic I've hiked, but it was a great experience anyway. Loved the rangers and park workers who told us about the wildlife, especially the snakes. They were under construction when we arrived so it's sure to get better soon.
  • This is a great park. I love it not only because it's 15 minutes from my house, but also the variety of activities, both self- and staff-led. The mountain itself is accessible only via guided hikes, which are held quite regularly; I highly recommend the moonlight hike, which finishes with a campfire and s'mores. The staff is fantastic and there's lots of stuff to do here. Picnic! Playground! Archery! Tree climbing! Reptile Day! Homeschool Thursdays!
  • We went for some fishing. The lakes are maintained very well. A ton of growth around the lake makes it hard to fish. But there were lots of people enjoying the trails.
  • A very nice park with ample places for picnicking and camping and good trails for biking, running or walking with kids and family. $5/day -state park parking fee.
