  • We were very pleasantly impressed by the museum and grounds. The museum not only displays Rockwell's prolific range, but places its context in both the art that influence him and his love of the people of New England. Clearly, he also influenced American art and people in a compelling exchange. This museum, set in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is well worth the trip and two or three hours of unhurried browsing.
  • One of my favorite artists-a great collection of his work and some great pieces from other artists too. Downstairs they have a little theater that shows a biography video narrated by one of his sons. In the theater they also have a huge collection of his Saturday Evening Post covers. Well worth the trip. The museum grounds are like a park-a lovely place. The museum store has Norman Rockwell everything
  • Overrated for the casual Norman Rockwell fan who lacks a deep appreciation of art. For the price, I probably would have gotten as much out of the experience by watching a documentary with fewer crowds. My husband enjoyed the guided tour. He's more in tune with artsy stuff. After perusing the contents of the museum, I explored the studio briefly then took a nice little walk to the river and back, as there is a lovely path. I don't think I'd return, if back in the area.
  • Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the museum. Spent two hours, but that wasn't nearly enough time to see everything and really take it all in. Being a longtime Norman Rockwell fan, having the opportunity to stand so close to his most famous paintings was unbelievable. Honestly, it felt surreal to be standing right in front of so many original paintings, all of which were so familiar from having seen the images countless times throughout my life. Consider The Runaway ... how many adults haven't seen that image, at one time or another? I'd bet not many. And yet, there was the original, right before my eyes. Unbelievable. The museum layout was perfect and the employees were terrific. Unfortunately, had to miss the studio, but the grounds and views are spectacular. Will be returning to complete the tour and am very much looking forward to it.
  • Thoroughly enjoyable visit. We remembered some of the original Saturday Evening Post covers, so significant nostalgia element to visit. Museum and Studio well worth a visit. Volunteer guides and staff are outstandingly knowledgeable, pleasant and able to provide loads of additional info about Rockwell. We spent nearly 5 hours and enjoyed every minute. Highly recommended.
