Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge

4.7
Home to the largest collection of this artist's paintings, the whitewashed house of the Norman Rockwell Museum sits among the hills. In addition to nearly 600 paintings, you'll find an archive with over 100,000 items and artifacts, plus fan mail. The museum building itself, situated among green countryside and rolling hills, is suggestive of the ideals that Rockwell espoused in his work. • Went here and enjoyed it very much. The tour was wonderful and I leaned a lot. I enjoyed seeing all Norman Rockwell are work.  more »
  • You can see close up Rockwell famous originals. Excellent views from outside the Studio. Tourist bus stops and crowded and flush. Pretty substantial, such as postcards and souvenir shops.

  • Firstly, I am NOT a museum lover! My husband and I spent an hour and 1/2 here and didn't get to finish seeing the downstairs. our docent was really wonderful and you should stay or wait to hear the ga...  more »

  • Great artist, shaky administration. Many of Rockwell's great paintings are found upstairs in four to five rooms, but the message is diluted because the collection is reduced. For some unexplained reason, the museum does not tell you that you can view MANY MORE Saturday Evening Post covers downstairs , where the theme continues. The museum also has in place a video projection system, where it would be easy to project for Rockwell devotees high-quality digital slides of much more of this entire catalog, along with an interpretative biography that explains the full American context of his work. Oh well. Some day perhaps. . .
  • Norman Rockwell's works are amazing. Getting the audio tour is well worth it. It's not clear how to go through the museum. I would stop at the information desk after getting tickets next time
  • I figured it would be kind to add some shots of a few of my own art and photographs available to enjoy some of my random shots and filters for different Special effects for your viewing. I hope you enjoy taking in the inspirational eye catchers. All from my own portfolio's of my own photography as well as my abstract murals, etc...Me and Norman gcwo way back. Do any of you guys remember or did you ever sale during the winter holiday season of going from door to door selling the scented candles with the sandy smell so good textured glass all with Norman rockwell pictures of winter scenery pictures applied to them. Selling them for school activities and field trips etc...
  • I love this museum. The paintings are great and the museum itself is very manageable. E everything is well described. If you love this artist and you are here at the Berkshires this is a must visit. A little pricy for the number of exhibits though as it only has 6 rooms or so of actual NR works.
  • He painted with such intention that it worked well for me to spend time at a few pictures rather then see them all. I loved standing in his studio kept as it was when he worked there. Beautiful part of the world.
