  • As far as waterfalls go, this is one that is easy to get to with a little up hill hike but well worth it. lots to see on your way there. A must see if you are ever in Steamboat.  more »

  • I love Fish Creek Falls and come here each time we visit Steamboat. Beautiful in the summer but also stunning in the winter, if your dressed very well in snow pants and boots as the snow can be 1ft+ deep in places. $5 to park but worth it every time since they maintain the grounds so well. The lower trail that goes to the bottom of the falls is a bit Steep so it could be seen as difficult for some, especially those with knee or hip problems. Although the lower trail is a shorter distance than the Overlook trailhead, the overlook trail also offers great unobstructive views of the falls and is an easier walk with more flat ground and smoother transitions (less of a grade) for the incline and declines on the trail. Wheelchair Accessibility: - Unfortunately, the Overlook trail does not seem wide enough for a wheelchair. I wouldn't recommend an automatic chair attempt the lower trail either unless it's heavier duty and okay for tougher grounds. (My grandfather's auto chair was not good on gravel but chair was older so maybe there are better chairs that could make it)
  • A Steamboat Springs essential stop. It's a gorgeous ~250ft waterfall within 1/4 mile of the trailhead only a few miles from town. If you want to hike, take it as far as you'd like. Eventually, you'll meet up with the Continental Divide trail after visiting 'Upper Falls' and Long Lake.
  • This is a great hike! The lower falls a short down hill hike from the parking lot. The upper falls is a pretty strenuous hike but totally with it. There is a fee to get in. $5.00 Cash or check. Or you can use your national parks pass.
  • Beautiful spot, easily reachable. The overlook walk is .25 miles while a hike to the base of the falls is just .20 miles but steeper. The upper parking was full, so we parked at a lower lot an additional .5 miles walk away, you can also park on the street. Entry is $5 per car, free with a National Parks pass.
  • I just went to the bottom Falls which is only about a quarter mile hike. It was definitely worth it the waterfall is beautiful and the nearby stream is also a great site. If I would have had more time I would have gone to the second Falls or even maybe the lake. I would definitely recommend it to anybody in Steamboat Springs.
