  • My wife and I spent the weekend touring wineries. This was a very good vineyard with some interesting wines.
  • This winery has a rustic, charming atmosphere. The wine was great, the service friendly, and the property was lovely to explore.
  • My husband and I have visited many Virginia wineries, and this one is among the best. It's situated on a farm with a lot of chickens, shady trees, and rural charm. There are wooden chairs, tables, and...  more »

  • We had a lovely time visiting the farm and winery in April. The Ashtaroot is my favorite wine there. The folks there are warm and love to share their stories with visitors. It is worth the visit. Go.
  • Had a wonderful time here, great host with awesome wines, you HAVE to walk down to the creek, it's beautiful!
  • wine is OK, staff is nice, but the setting is pretty mediocre (at best)...there is a semi-decent tasting room, and the rest of the facility is a half kept "farm-ette". Oh, but if you are member of their wine club, you have access to a 100 sq ft porch covered with some plastic wrap...what a treat! If you are use to vineyards in Loudon, Charlottesville, etc., you will not be very impressed with this place..IMO...
  • Great wine & cheap tasting tour ($5). The people are some of the nicest I have ever met. They let us picnic in their vineyard and my wife got to stomp some grapes. It also seemed like a great place to if you have the kids with you. Wisteria might have to be an annual tradition.
  • Very friendly staff, great blends, and the grounds and surrounding scenery are beautiful!
