  • We just camped at Norrie State Park the past several nights in one of the cabins. Our cabin was as clean as a cabin in the woods surrounded by bugs can be. The kitchen and appliances were spotless...  more »
  • Sites are too close together, and too many for the bathroom facilities. Very dirty. Some sites were just bulldozer patches. Poison ivy every where.  more »
  • The park itself is beautiful and the trails are fun- poorly organized with markets but you won’t get lost- now the campsites are one of the worst I have stayed at. You are right on top of your...  more »
  • We stayed at this campground for 3 nights though we paid for four. No hook-ups, which we can do fine, but the water access is hard to get to in out 33 ft motor coach. The teenage girls at the check-in hut were less than helpful. The bathrooms were NOT clean any time we went. The shower was so small I hit elbows on the nasty walls and there was nowhere to undress or get dressed outside the shower except out in the open in the bathroom! Had to wrap in a towel and go into a stall. The men’s shower wand was disintegrating. The sites were muddy and there was no privacy between them. We were so disappointed because other NY state parks are so well kept. This area is packed with historical places to visit and the towns are so cute and manicured that the contrast in the way this campground is maintained is unbelievable. We will find a different spot to camp next time we come to visit our longtime friend.
  • The park along the river is beautiful. There are picnic tables and grills available. There are great views up and down the river. There is a marina with a reasonably priced public boat launch. The camping area has cabins and tent sites.
  • We parked under the mulberry tree near the Environmental Center, but were Very Disappointed with the view of the bay/ cove due to so much overgrown brush along the shore and algae on the water. It's saddening to see that the seining strip is so overgrown that it's been closed to potential student groups... That is a devastating loss for our youth and college classes! The saving grace was entertainment provided by 2 young wild rabbits. They were hopping out of, then into, the dense brush across the driveway from our parking space, apparently searching for their early evening meal. We also heard a few birds above us in the mulberry tree, most likely feeding on the ripe berries.
  • Capsites are very open (no privacy) and basically gravel pits. However I liked that there was a platform at our tent site, and the site was very big. We were just up the hill from a beautiful overlook over the Hudson which made it worth it.
  • Bathrooms are stinky, filthy and completely unmaintained. Campsites are big but close to each other and that can ruin the camping experience. On the flip side, it's a state park and hence inexpensive. No store on campgrounds.
