  • Directly on the first bridge that crosses the little river we could discover a sliding then snake in the water, then later some Vogarten, some turtles, as well as three alligators: A almost baby Gator, a young alligator and a full-grown. The young alligator could we watch as he tried to bite a big turtle in the leg, what this but by clever Dodge or "Dodge" prevent could: very interesting. Also the nature is beautiful, if of course again by Irma trees torn off were lying around. There are enough parking places, toilets and the visit of the Park and of the boardwalks is free.

  • We (tourists) wanted to see Alligators on our trip to Florida, and this was perfect to see them in their natural habitat. When you arrive just ask the people finishing their walk if they've seen any that day. That'll help you know which way to head on your walk, it's a big area. We saw 4 on our 40 minute walk, of which were told to us when we arrived by those finishing their walk. Additionally, the walking paths are in great condition, there's a little educational building with facts, clean bathrooms, and water fountains. We thought it was well worth the 30 minute drive for a couple hour experience.
  • Sawgrass is a wonderful Park with a lot of nature. Love taking the dogs here to run around and get out some energy. Not quite as open as it used to be on the hills and around the lake, but still a beautiful place to enjoy the afternoon. The boardwalks seem well maintained and I very much enjoy watching all the wildlife from the tower.
  • I've been going to Sawgrass park for over 20 years and its been one of the best places for educational trips, picnics, sight-seeing, or wildlife photography. The park has mostly boardwalk trails through the brush and tree line with some parts overhanging the water's edge. There's also an observation tower and a few dirt path trails through the back part of the park to make for some changes in scenery. Common wildlife you may see ranges from a variety of hawks, owls and waterfowl, alligators, snakes, turtles and tortoises as well as otters and armadillos on occasions.
  • Great park for where it is. Sure you're not hiking in the wilderness but for being right in the middle of the city this place has a good variety of plants and animals. Also the welcome center has some interesting items.
  • I always bring my snowbird friends here when they visit. Well maintained park with a cute littlewildlife information center, walking trails, overlook tower and plenty of the wildlife you're really here to see...gators. I go here at least once a week and it's a wonderful place to bring kids because they can run around and enjoy just being kids.
