Love it here, lots to see, lovely walks and wonderful wildlife. The lake is just beautiful and you will likely get to see alligators and turtles in abundance. enjoy!
I found this park on accident when I first moved to this area. Since then I have been back a few times. It's a great park to take out of town visitors who want to see Florida wildlife, like alligators... read more »

Great park in St Pete! The boardwalk winds all the way through what feels like an actual swamp, I think another reviewer mentioned it is a mile long? It's a nice boardwalk! This park is right next to Hwy 275, but you feel like you've escaped into a piece of nature outside the city. There is a cool overlook tower off one side of the boardwalk. Nice view of the lake with some shade and seating for a quick rest. Lots of animals! I've seen gators, turtles, armadillos, possums, raccoons, and lots of cool birds. There are always people out here with binoculars and cameras doing their bird watching thing. Dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk, but I've seen people on there w/ dogs anyways. There is a nice sidewalk to walk your dog that runs alongside the front of the boardwalk though. Also, there are some pretty butterfly bushes at end of sidewalk in the park. If you are there at the right times/season, you can walk through the bushes and be surrounded by butterflies! It's gorgeous!
This place is fantastic! If you are looking to get a good scenic walk of the swamp this is the place to go. You see aligators, turtles, birds of all kinds, snakes, fish, spiders, and much more. You are safe from it all as well, being on a high up wooden walkway so you can enjoy your views.
Loved our Sunday morning walk at this beautiful park. It's easy to forget how close one is to busy roads and shopping centers. A bit of old Florida right in the city.
Great park. It is the largest swamp in Florida and there is absolute peace and quiet there. Entrance is free and there is a lot of information provided about the plants and animals. There are also alligators that are quite easy to spot.
Great park. Long boardwalks that go in all different ways. Gators, turtles, rabbits, armadillos and so much more wildlife. Dogs can't go on the boardwalk but there are other areas for them. Very serine area that takes you away from all the hustle and bustle of the day!
