  • There is no charge to visit Sawgrass and it is a great place to check out some Florida wildlife and fauna. There is lots of parking and there are restrooms. Put bug repellant on and if you have binocu...  more »
  • Sawgrass Lake Park is perfect for birders who prefer boardwalk trails to more difficult trekking. There are plenty of birds to be observed, including hawks, night herons, and pileated woodpeckers, and...  more »
  • Getting there is half the fun. Driving down a narrow street lined with modest single story houses, speed bumps, and a wonderful driveway with trees arching over until they nearly touch. Clearly a plac...  more »
  • I have been coming here since I was very young, and after several decades it just seems to get more incredible. There are several miles worth of trails and boardwalk that loop and return back to where you entered, so you never get stuck out on a long trail too far from the exit. I've included just a few photos of the abundance of wildlife you'll find here. If you look closely, you're almost sure to see an alligator, armadillo, or some friendly turtles. I have been to many parks around the US, and Sawgrass stands out in my mind as one of my most cherished with a high replay value and an abundance of sights!!
  • I just moved to the area. I'm a country girl and can't stand the congestion of St.Pete. I'm a runner, and can run to this park from where I live. The other day I took a long run, and for the first time in a while I felt so at peace, energized, and relaxed! So many beautiful trails. I used to see deer while running, but the wildlife here is amazing and the thought of a gator while running is a lot more exciting than a deer. You forget you're in a busy's great.
  • Awesome clean park, great boardwalks to go on. Lots of wild animals to see. On the tower we were lucky to see a lot of baby gators. Saw a lot of gators from babies to 12 foot long safely. No mosquitos when we there. Pet friendly, no admission, and bathrooms
  • The tortoises are my favorite. I wish people didn't bring their dogs to scare the tortoises. Also some people need to respect at a distance. I have had to remove long sticks where some people had apparently tried to poke them. And trash from the Lookout tower is sad to see. Such a peaceful place though usually. Still 5 stars. I would like to support.
  • This is a very nice park with wooden boardwalks and dirt foot trails, that take you through the park so you can walk a little or a lot. There is a tower where you can get a lovely view of the small, winding river. There are many waterbirds and migrating birds in their seasons. Beware of the alligators. There are restrooms and some picnic tables. As lovely as this park is, it has never been overly crowded when I have been there. I highly recommend you visit Sawgrass Park.
