  • This place was great, came here after the Museum of Fine Arts and my boys (7yo and 3yo) loved it. They enjoyed the many different areas especially the playground made out of surfboards, the fire truck...  more »
  • We decided on Great Explorations after a week of cold. It was packed, but just as fun as usual. Our son was a fireman, and everything else he wanted to be during the hours we spent there. I'm thinking...  more »
  • Great Explorations had potential to be a fun time for our grandson. Unfortunately, the air quality forced us to leave after about fifteen minutes. I first noticed the strong smell of mold or mildew wh...  more »

  • My grandsons loved this place. There are many things that the kids can play on and with, a miniature grocery store, a mock-up fire truck, places to pretend to be doctors, veterinarians and many other things. The biggest attraction in the museum is a huge conglomeration of tiered nets for climbing, a big ship to play on, and under the ship is an area where the children can make music with a variety of percussion instruments. Kids of all ages were having a lot of fun with the variety of things to play on and with. Everyone was having a wonderful time. As of this writing, the facility consists of one large indoor area with the items listed above and many more. My grandsons spent a little more than than 2 and a half hours before thinking about leaving. The museum is best for ages 2 to 12, but a young to middle teenager could find many things to occupy themselves with. This is a smorgasbord of interactive exhibits cleverly disguised as play areas. Immediately attached is a capacious variety of gardens as a separate attraction of long-standing, known as Sunken Gardens, worthy of a separate visit and subsequent review.
  • Fun for younger kids. My 3 kids age 6 and under had a BLAST! So many fun activities and a separate area for kids 3 and under. Would definitely recommend! If you want to do the Sunken Garden as well, buy the tickets together because you can't combine afterwards. Fun time!
  • Its a nice place to take the kids. They definitely have fun. There are a bunch of things to do, however, i wish it was a bigger place. I hear they are expanding. While we were there this time they had a lot of noisy construction going on. They also had a dr Seuss day that day. That had book readings, the cat in hat was there. They have a sand box type area that is filled with little rubber pellets instead of sand. Id recommend.
  • Small, but entertaining for my kids who are 7 and 9. Mainly they used the large climbing obstacle and the very large building blocks. This was a great getaway for a few hours. Since many were kids there were five and under, the younger kids knocked down the older children's building tower, castle and obstacle course during and after construction. This did make it a bit difficult for my kids to enjoy the building materials, so they went back to climbing.
  • This are so many wonderful exhibits that it Can be hard for some children to focus too long in one area. It is interactive which is educational and the kids enjoy. I think the huge slide should be removed. Children can slide on any playground and seem to want to spend so much time on this one when they could be doing things they don't usually do. I think more exhibits should be in rooms, instead of in the open which is overwhelming. Adults need, need, need places to sit near the children while they do the activities. I go with school classes. They love it. N .
