Chihuly Collection, St. Petersburg

(4.1/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Chihuly Collection houses the only permanent collection of artist Dale Chihuly, whose glass sculptures have graced the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Louvre. Highlights include the Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier, commissioned specifically for the museum, which hangs from the ceiling. With spikes poking out at all angles, the chandelier resembles a sea anemone. For an in-depth look at Chihuly’s work, take a tour led by one of the museum’s knowledgeable docents. You can buy a combination ticket, which will allow you to finish the experience by stopping by the Glass Studio & Hot Shop to watch glassblowers create new works. Chihuly Collection is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, St. Petersburg Edition.

  • We expected more from the exhibition at 4 x $18 admission is one after 15 minutes but disappointed. There also the very good idea of glassmakers didn't help.

  • Having been thrilled by the Chihuly Garden & Glass exhibit in Seattle in 2014, I was delighted to have the opportunity to view more of his work in the beautiful purpose-built space in St Petersburg. T...  more »

  • This place was great and fun to enjoy all the artwork. Its amazing how much time and precision it took to delicately construct the collections into masterpieces. Defeinitely worth your time if you enjoy any form of art.
  • Someone wrote "It takes only 10 minutes" to walk through the museum! If you walk through this exhibit that fast you have truly cheated yourself of an outstanding experience. An exhibit like this need not be exhaustive to be worthwhile, rewarding and inspirational. There is ample seating provided to allow visitors to relax and contemplate the magnificence of the displays. Knowledgeable folks are on hand to explain the significance and derivation of the art. Take your time and enjoy the journey. It will come to an end all too soon for a genuine lover of beauty and creativity.
  • The glass is beautiful, I was disappointed in the size of the gallery for the cost of admission... It's quite small, and even my elderly granny remarked "is that all?!" while walking around. Many of the pieces weren't even done by Chihuly but by his apprentices
  • Tried telephoning to get information about your rates. Your phone system never connected me with a live person and when leaving a message, no one ever returned my call. Maybe this one-star review will get someone's attention.
  • Very unique and elegant designed "attraction". An awesome and original idea to fill in about an hour in downtown St. Pete. Beautiful.
