  • Maybe I picked to wrong tour to buy - got there a few minutes early and was met by a very nice young lady with a glass of wine for me, saying that the tour will begin shortly. Sat down in the shade an...  read more »

  • My favorite wines in Napa. Though I'm far from an oenophile, I live about an hour away from Napa and think that the Spring Mountain district seems to have Napa's best wines. Spring Mountain Vineyard harvests the largest parcel of land on the mountain. The 2005 Elivette (the only California wine to win gold at 2010 Decanter World Wine Awards) might be the best wine I've ever tasted. All of SMV's wines are exceptional, the regular tasting room is intimate (think ~6-8 people), and the 1885 Queen Anne house on the property is impressive, with an ~16 person dining room used for estate tastings and private events. Note that the estate tasting is the only way to see the house. The grounds are also beautifully kept. The only downside for me is that Spring Mountain is at the northern end of Napa Valley, so it's a bit of a slow drive through the touristy areas to get up there. It's quite close to St. Helena, which is a beautiful Napa town. No walk-ins, so you must call in advance to book a tasting or tasting + tour.
  • Wow! Definitely worth a stop while in the valley! Book your tour before you get out here as this is a popular vinyard. The wine is out of this world. 40 for a tasting and 75 for a tour. We did the tasting but have heard from others the tour is great too!
  • Lovely grounds and incredible wines. A very unique, casual tasting experiencing. .
  • We had the honor of been served by a gentleman by the name of Ish. He was kind, knowledgeable. And most helpful in helping out group select wine that fit our pallet..
  • My favorite Winery for the past 5 years. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable
