Where to stay in St. Helena

Because St. Helena is nestled in upscale wine country, most people who visit have no intention of roughing it. As such, the city sports a number of luxurious hotels. Several boast restaurants, hot tubs, and swimming pools; however, keep in mind that those with extensive grounds tend to be farther away from the main street. Budget-conscious travelers can find some more basic motels (looking farther out of town is a good way to save a few dollars). However, those staying on the outskirts should be aware that parking--particularly during high season--can be challenging in the city.

  • This is a family winery and my wife and I became club members the very first time that we visited. Their wines are delicious and the people are superb. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to obtain their great wines. We look forward to visiting the winery, the family (including sweet Rusty), and Pat every trip that we make to wine country. Pat was so accommodating over our last visit. We can't thank you enough. We will be back, but it won't be soon enough!
  • Beautiful scenery and tasty wines. A family owned and operated winery and you can feel it. (we even made friends with one of the cats, Olive)
  • Great wine. Warm friendly experience
  • A great winery with a great product. Rich is such a good host and the wines are by far a true value. Give yourself some time and enjoy what Salvestrin has to offer.
  • Awesome wine, sauvignon blanc, 3D cab, retaggio, sangiovese. Beautiful property. Family owns and operates the winery and makes the wine. Mom, sister, brother and kids will be around. Can't beat it.
