  • I purchased a Groupon for a party of four for a chocolate and wine pairing at Rutherford Ranch Winery. I should've known better, but I figured I'd give the place a try. I travel to the Napa Valley abo...  more »
  • We made reservations for a pairing with chocolates. I really recommend this one! It really enhances the flavors of the wines. The wines they serve are some of the more affordable ones. We also pre-ord...  more »

  • What an amazing array of wines! My husband and I were on a bike tour of Napa Valley and decided to have our lunch at this winery. First of all, it does feel as if it is away from some of the other major wineries (such as Robert Mondavi) so it is not completely overcome with tourists (always a plus when trying to get a more intimate feel of wine country). We did the chocolate and wine pairing while waiting for our lunch to be prepared and we could not have been happier. Our host was extremely friendly. Even though the tasting room was busy, the staff was able to find time to spend with all of the guests. The wines were so delicious! We even decided to have some shipped home with us! UPDATE: I recently received the two wines that I ordered to be shipped home to Arizona and they were in absolute perfect condition when we received the package. Being from a hot state, our main concern was that the wines would spoil if we had them shipped back. But that was not the case. Can't wait to enjoy our wines at home!
  • Wine tasting was good. The wine not on the tasting was actually the best. Really good Cabarnet Sav, Napa Valley (2013). The experience was soured as follows. After paying for the tasting, I purchased 30 bottles. Prior to purchase the salesman quoted a price that sounded off. Questioning it, the manager realized that he had misquoted the tax and the system would not comp the tasting (which is part of their sales pitch); so credit to him he compromised. After purchase, I realized that he also over - charged for the wine by 10%. The manager offered to refund the transaction. I asked him to honor the advertising and not just refund. I did not accept the refund and he did not honor the advertised price. Afrer returning to the hotel i chose to cancel the order (on principle); the manager accepted. Waiting to see it cancels and will revise rating accordingly.
  • Should you take on this adventure --- a must to meet a gentleman name Andrew. Very knowledgeable and polite - remove the anxiety associated with been a novice wine connoisseur. Tasting rooms are inviting, tasting combinations and wine pairing are well presented without feeling hassled or pressured. Excellent selection of charms to go with your visit. The grounds of the winery is very inviting - by all means, take a gander around, you might just see one of the wine makers or the owners who are frequent on site. Love their attitude about what they do - they educate you well during the wine tasting process.
  • We went with a group of 10 and booked the picnic area. Very rude service at the tasting from Alejandro and his manager Scott considering how much we spent there. The picnic area staff was much nicer. Given how many other wineries are available in the area would never go back and strongly recommend people to go elsewhere. Only reason they didn't get 1 star is because of staff at the picnic area.
  • Amazing reds. Insane array of chocolates. Friendly and knowledgeable star. Win-win-wine!
