Where to stay in St. Helena

Because St. Helena is nestled in upscale wine country, most people who visit have no intention of roughing it. As such, the city sports a number of luxurious hotels. Several boast restaurants, hot tubs, and swimming pools; however, keep in mind that those with extensive grounds tend to be farther away from the main street. Budget-conscious travelers can find some more basic motels (looking farther out of town is a good way to save a few dollars). However, those staying on the outskirts should be aware that parking--particularly during high season--can be challenging in the city.

  • What fun! You can book this activity online. We had a great time learning about wines and what different wines bring to a blend, and what work well together depending on your personal preference. You ...  more »
  • So unlike the other places we went to, Raymond puts on a show! We prefer tastings that are in a Vineyard, as opposed to just a storefront as we like getting to see the grapes and the processing areas ...  more »

  • The Raymond Hill Cab in the 1.5 Ld bottle sold by Trader Joe's is my favorite daily table wine. Unfortunately, Trader Joe's no longer stocks this wine. I am looking for a new source in the Calif. 90803 or 90808 area code. If you can help, I would very much appreciate it. Old Gary ....... Phone: 562 438-1223
  • A modern revitalization of a 40 year old Napa winery. Very nice wines offered at a variety of prices.
  • Love the atmosphere, the Frenchie Winery, the beautiful garden, the fact that it's pet friendly, educational... and the wine is great! A must see for every dog and nature lover. We will be back. :-)
  • You have to take a tour and see the Red Room. Ask for Denise her insight and intellect of the history is amazing. From the bio natural farming to how and why the grapes are grown in different regions will make an hour seem like 10 minutes. Oh and the wine, let's just say we are club members and there will be a few bottles waiting for us when we get home. It's worth the trip.
  • Raymond Vineyards is definitely the funnest winery in Napa Valley! They are environmental friendly. Organic and solar!
