  • A knowledgeable and friendly fellow shared both the history of the various wines and a few tastes. We purchased a port and cab blend that will be best aged for few years.
  • We always stop in here to taste and buy, and we are also on the mailing list. One of the last free tastings in the Valley. Always a solid producer and often outstanding. The Martha's Vineyard Cabernet...  read more »
  • Old style tasting as it was a free tasting circa the 1980s. Friendly staff. Only downside is they will let you bonus taste older vintages which did not sell well in hopes you will buy.
  • Stopped off here in July during my trip to Napa. Have been a fan of Heitz for decades. I was shocked that there were no tasting fees. They opened a bottle of an awesome 2002 Trailside Vineyard cabernet for me to taste. I couldn't help but buy a couple of bottles of it to take home! Hard to find properly aged cabernet these days!
  • This place came highly recommended from one of the bigger wineries in Napa and they did not disappoint. They offer a free tasting, a rarity in Napa, and the wines are actually good. As well as the view. If you re touring Napa then this should be a stop off on your trip.
  • Probably the only place in Napa with good wine you can taste for free without a reservation.
  • It's not a big winery but they have complementary wine tasting. The staffs there are very friendly. A friend went there a week ago and did some shopping. This time he brings a big group of 10 and the staffs are exciting to see us. They even let us try a 1998 Cabernet. We do a big shopping this time...
  • Great place. I'm not cheapskate but maintaining the tradition of a free tasting even in Napa is important to keep this region from becoming an amusement park. Of course their wines are awesome which is why they are still around after all these years.
