  • Joe was wonderful and enjoyed speaking to him and his knowledge. Nice tasting room and beautiful building and grounds. Nice port and older vintage cabs. Thank you!
  • Friendly crew, with interesting wines, unpretentious -- a comfortable wine tasting place. It has a very pretty back patio with a fountain, Great to lounge on during hot summer days.
  • This is one of my "must stop" wineries in Napa. Joe runs the tasting room with an easy going style, no hard sell. The wine is consistently great so it doesn't really need a hard sell, but still it is ...  more »

  • This place came highly recommended from one of the bigger wineries in Napa and they did not disappoint. They offer a free tasting, a rarity in Napa, and the wines are actually good. As well as the view. If you re touring Napa then this should be a stop off on your trip.
  • Stopped off here in July during my trip to Napa. Have been a fan of Heitz for decades. I was shocked that there were no tasting fees. They opened a bottle of an awesome 2002 Trailside Vineyard cabernet for me to taste. I couldn't help but buy a couple of bottles of it to take home! Hard to find properly aged cabernet these days!
  • Probably the only place in Napa with good wine you can taste for free without a reservation.
  • It's not a big winery but they have complementary wine tasting. The staffs there are very friendly. A friend went there a week ago and did some shopping. This time he brings a big group of 10 and the staffs are exciting to see us. They even let us try a 1998 Cabernet. We do a big shopping this time...
  • Great place. I'm not cheapskate but maintaining the tradition of a free tasting even in Napa is important to keep this region from becoming an amusement park. Of course their wines are awesome which is why they are still around after all these years.
