  • The owners must be unbelievably wealthy, because this winery is over the top, especially if you like modern art. The wines are fantastic. But the experience was not quite as personal as we have had at...  more »
  • I love Hall Cab. So it was on my "must see" list. They sell out way in advance and we had to find some major connections to secure a tour with about a weeks notice so I was so happy. They have beautif...  more »
  • An ultramodern winery with (mostly) Beautiful modern artwork. Thus, if you like a traditional winery, traditional decor, this is NOT at all the tour for you! True, there are a few old things preserved...  more »

  • This is BY FAR my favorite winery in Napa. The grounds are beautiful, with spectacular art (sculptures especially) all over the grounds. Some great history on the grounds, and a beautiful architectural style as well. The wine is great too!
  • My husband and I are members and very big fans of their wine - never disappoints! However, this weekend his business lost a star for us because we called to set a cave tour at their Rutherford location. The rep confirmed the 2 pm tour at Rutherford specifically and we re-arranged our weekend plans and drove out for over an hour to arrive on time at the location. We were not greeted in person and told we were book for a tour of their St Helena location. We did not arrive on time for THAT tour, obviously as it was scheduled for 2, and just picked up our membership wines. I think the customer service was lacking in this case as we dedicated an entire day essentially to this venture and obviously somebody made a mistake, as I repeatedly stated which tour we wanted to reserve over the phone. As a member I would expect higher accountability from a business of this caliber.
  • We scheduled a tour and tasting at HALL. The grounds and winery were beautiful. I was pretty drunk from the winery before but I think I remember the wine being good too... Our tour guide Ray I'm STILL laughing about. He was super nice but I've never met someone that could talk so much. He would ramble on monologue-style for 20 minutes in the same spot without taking a breath or asking anyone a question. I kept shuffling my feet and clearing my throat to give him a clue like okay dude let's move on. If I was an old person I would have passed out standing there. He would glance at me confused why I was interrupting and then keep rambling. On multiple occasions, I thought "Are we being punk'd? Is he waiting for someone to say something? Is he just making this stuff up?" The tour was also pretty salesy - 50% of it felt like we were on a wedding venue tour. Eventually I tuned him out and just enjoyed the artwork and scenery. I wish we had time afterward to hang out WITHOUT Ray (lol) and enjoy some wine on the grounds, but they closed as soon as the tour was over. Skip the tour and just come for a tasting or to hang out.
  • Wine is okay. Customer service is not. If you have a tour scheduled, the winery does offer 15 minutes of wiggle room, otherwise you almost certainly lost your $$ paid. Tour admission can be used for a tasting, of 4 wines, but the service at the bar will less than desired if you had a tour in mind.
  • This "THANK YOU" is especially for EDWARD LEE. My name is David and I grew up in the Bay area. He was accomodating from the moment we walked in. Explained every wine perfectly. BRAVO EDWARD! Thank you for spending your time with us. I did also join there wine club, since I enjoy there wines so much.
