  • Cairdean Vineyards has been a work in progress for the past several years and is now an absolutely lovely destination. The grounds are beautiful and there is much to do. They have a nice bakery that i...  read more »
  • Excellent wine cellar, modern and welcoming, good wines based on small crops of selected strains, the facilities serve other small Vintners in the area which according to local regulations do not possess sufficient acres of cultivation for the their own service. We started with a couple of Sauvignon blanc, followed by a red Syrah, to finish with a couple of reservations Cavernet Sauvignon excellent flavor and texture.

  • I have been here twice. The site has a shop, cafe, restaurant and tasting room. This is close to Calistoga and a great place to visit--I didn't need a reservation and was able to taste the wines in a ...  read more »
  • I simply drink a glass of wine from Cairdean vineyard I bought two years ago in the winery. Finally I opened it and it is fabulous. Very fruity and full of freshness. I love it and love to visit again.
  • We have been to Cairdean as a family several times. I think I was number two in the wine club! Simply put, there is nothing else quite like it in the valley. Certainly the wines are excellent (our wine fridge is well stocked with them) and that is reason enough to visit. The tasting room is cozy and bright and a great place to start, BTW. However, in addition to the wines, there are two great places to eat and the ability to enjoy your food and wine on premises, which the county almost never permits! We have been with our kids and they enjoyed the open space and the caves. We have been to numerous wineries in the valley, as I said, but I can't think of any other location with as many things to and see. Highly recommended if you are coming to town. Saw some photos of a lovely wedding here, as well! We will be back on our next trip!
  • I live Napa and it;s wineries. This is the most disjointed group of people and wines in the valley today. the staff are nice, educated and helpful. But the horrible quality of the wine and Deli is almost offensive to the level that if they continue this path they will revert back to the outlet mall that they sprang from. Other than a few highlights the deli itself is a disappointing experience. Money would be better spent going to Safeway. The wines are unbalanced, not well made and are confused as to what style they are looking for. I am intimate with the wines on that hill in Napa, Frias Family, V Madrone even Ehlers across the street produce exceptional wines that speak of the land. It seems like Cairdean just threw money at wine consultants to come up with something. This attitude is evident in the design of the winery, the deli and even the restaurant. They are trying to impress on the wrong level and it comes through on the mediocre products they produce. Save you time and bypass this place. There are more soulful places you could visit for your wine dollar.
  • Cairdean Vineyard has a bright and airy tasting room with plenty of knowledgeable staff to help you through a broad selection of wines. The 2011 Rose has great color and enough body to make it just right for a salad and sandwich lunch, so it is too bad that The Farmer and The Fox is only open for dinner. After perusing the menu, I am coming back for some oysters and the whiskey cured salmon, paired with one of the Chardonnays. Over all, good values and nice atmosphere.
  • Subpar wine.
