  • This is certainly an upscale winery and tasting experience. Their wines are pricey; however, the experience of tasting by the fountain, under an umbrella was well worth it. You also have the option of...  more »
  • This place is gorgeous! Amazing patio with fountains and pond overlooking vineyards. The wine is way overpriced and I was not impressed. The tasting menu is almost double of most wineries and left muc...  more »
  • This is a beautiful spot. And the wine is very high quality. My displeasure is around the wine club. I was there in the fall of 2016. I'm a member of other wine clubs so I was aware of some of the pro...  more »

  • I don't typically write reviews but I'll make an exception for this place. A girlfriend and I visited alpha omega today after a lovely day of wine tasting. We had a reservation and were seated outside with a gorgeous view of the fountain. That's where the good review stops. The guy helping us treated us as though we couldn't afford the tasting (even though we asked for the reserve tasting). He automatically assumed we were splitting it (hadn't planned on splitting until he decided that for us). Brought two different wines at a time so we had no idea which ones we were tasting and brought the others before we were done with the first two. At the end of the tasting, which was super rushed, he asked us if we wanted to purchase any wine. I always purchase wine, unfortunately I had no idea which was my favorite due to how it was presented us. I paid the tasting fee only and then he told me "tips are appreciated". Honestly, I was appalled and it's the reason for my first yelp review.
  • This winery was tacky and rude from the time we dropped our car at Vallet. (The vallet boy was kind). The hostess and our sommelier were the tackiest and most rude people we met during our weekend. The sommelier bumped into us on the way out and literally tried to fight us. A kind investor was there and was so incredibly embarrassed (even comping our wine). Do not waste your time. There are so many better places to try.
  • We had a very enjoyable time sitting by the fountain, our server was very kind and informative! Incredible wines worth the price!
  • Horrible, there are too many other tasting rooms that will give you a better experience. We've been coming to Napa for 20 years and are avid collectors of wine. We go to the wine rooms to "experience" the wine/winery and not be "sold" or compete for attention against other high rollers. We had an appointment and the "salesman" helping us clearly had too many groups he was trying to help and was clearly spending time with who he thought would buy the most wine. After about 15-20 minutes of standing there and getting maybe 30 seconds of his time, we decided while their wine is very good and highly rated, (expensive!) this is not the experience that we wanted. Why waste your time, energy and/or money on a place that treats you this way. We headed over to Hall winery and talk about a 180 degree difference. Save your time, aggravation and skip Alpha Omega and head over to Hall. You will thank this review over and over if you do! Read my other review and you'll see we rarely give anyone such a bad review.
  • Very exclusive winery in Napa with select wines from select grapes.

Where to stay in St. Helena

Because St. Helena is nestled in upscale wine country, most people who visit have no intention of roughing it. As such, the city sports a number of luxurious hotels. Several boast restaurants, hot tubs, and swimming pools; however, keep in mind that those with extensive grounds tend to be farther away from the main street. Budget-conscious travelers can find some more basic motels (looking farther out of town is a good way to save a few dollars). However, those staying on the outskirts should be aware that parking--particularly during high season--can be challenging in the city.
